Snipers at the Super Bowl

The photos from the snipers vantage point at the Super Bowl stadium in Indianapolis were revealed by US Tactical Supply a weapon company which sold the tripod for the sharpshooters rifle. Later other pictures of the snipers nests outside the stadium equipped with high power special tactics Remington 700 modifications appeared. It must be said that after the 9-11 events placing the snipers at the Super Bowl has become a common practice.

Custom Remington M700 in an XLR chassis, with a U.S. Optics scope and mounted on an Alamo Four Star DCLW tripod. -Not that I've looked it up or anything.... ;)

well thats good to know that if you are in the crowd at the superbowl you just might have a sniper rifle trained on you at some point in the night :(
very reassuring :(

I'm sure you will see a lot of people say that... But they are damned if they do, damned if they don't. If a suicide bomber ever got in there, the public outrage about inadequate security measures would be insane. I for one am quite content they are up there every year, personally.

you seriously think that any sniper is going to be able to stop a real terrorist bomber? all they would do is activate the bomb and blow shit up... they wouldnt have time to do anything

Reminds me of that movie Two Minute Warning. We saw the original in the theater back in 1976, with the sniper picking people off for fun. Then they cleaned it up for TV, adding footage where the sniper is shooting empty seats to set off a panic to cover up a museum robbery next to the stadium. Pretty lame. In the original I remember Charlton NRA Heston beating up the sniper at the end, saying "where did you get the gun?"
