The lions mane jellyfish.......

The Lions Mane Jellyfish is the largest jellyfish in the world. They have been swimming in arctic waters since before the dinosaurs (over 650 million years ago) and are among some of the oldest surviving species in the world. The largest can come in at about 6 meters and has tentacles over 50 meters long!

The largest one ever found had 'a diameter of 7 feet 6 inches (2.29 m) and tentacles 120 feet (37 m) long'. Thanks wikipedia...

Yak, you have to look at it this way, the size of a Jellyfish is usually measured in a "relaxed" state, and we all know that Jellyfish "inhale and Exhale" to propel themselves forward, My guess is that this photo was taken at the maximum "inhale point" right before an exhale, and that would account for the size difference..
