Now That's A Snake

This was taken at Port Mayaca at the gate channel to lake Okkeechobee with a disposable Fugi camera that I kept in my tackle box. No zoom lens on this picture and that fence is 6 foot high.

I saw a dead 10 ft diamond back laid out across the road. Like a little speed bump haha

I grew up hunting in the woods south of Orlando, FL... Pattern is all wrong for a diamondback. Plus you won't see a diamondback near the water like that.

I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure that's a BIG fucking cottonmouth water moccasin. The younger ones are almost black, but when they get really fucking big like this, their skin gets lighter, and you can see their patterns like this.

Either that or it's a python of some sort. I don't know them very well, but they've totally invaded the south Florida wetlands.
