So I guess it's a law because you should respect the monument and all, but when people start obviously protesting what they think is silly should that be an arrestable offense? For demonstrating their 1st amendment right?

There should never be a law about having to keep respect for a monument. Sure, they can have a policy and security to enforce it, but if the judicial system seriously considered "respect" to be a subject to be enforced by law, then that is a pretty fucked up.

well I could upload about a dozen videos of soliders getting onto the crowds/people at the tomb of the unknown soldier (but I will spare you). I think there should be some level of respect when visiting these places. I've been to DC and went in the washington monument and the jefferson and lincoln and much more. I didn't act like a jackass when I was there (I was like 12-13) and futhermore the park cops didn't have to chastise me like these 'adults'

Some people may call RT biased, but fuck, they're pretty much the only news outlet reporting on the things that might shake some peoples world beliefs, until the cases gain enough exposure for other medias to start reporting on them as well.

RT & Al Jazeera are 2 sources I quite like.

The bill that Bonehead mentioned above is of incredible significance, but they don't crow about on y'alls tv, so no one cares. People cried about the Patriot Act, and rightfull so! But only because their tv told them to. It's sad by how easily people are led by contrived "popular opinion" spoon fed to them.

Now where the fuck is my tri-cornered hat?

on the subject of the new "indefinite detention" bill, how many people could really be indefinitely detained before the system totally collapsed?

The problem here is that those are US Park Service police. That means you get Federal charges if you fuck-up. Those are a wee bit harder to expunge from the criminal record.
i honestly can not imagine they will be charged with anything.... i mean................ he didn't even charge them with anything while he was arresting them.. even when directly asked what they were doing wrong, and no... i REALLY don't think that dancing is an arrestable offence... if anything i think that they should be worried about keeping their job after the handling of this situation

There are a bunch of federal laws, especially in the Parks Service, revolving around trespassing....yes, lame, I know. But true. Most of them came out of the Vietnam era...

i like the way the cop picked up the douche bag with the groomed facial pubes and slammed him to the ground! It's amazing at how cocky those dumb asses are before they get taken down! Did you hear the one little bitch crying about his broken shoulder! What a fucking joke. If those dumbasses wanted to protest or dance then they could of gotten a fucking permit and proceeded the proper way. I don't care what the law is. If you want to change it, change it the right way......don't be a boneheaded prick about it.....that only gets your ass slammed to the ground!

This was awesome!

did you just say that people need a permit to visit the Jefferson Memorial? what are you one of those Tea party fucktards?
Jasper all the current bills being passed in the US stripping peoples rights aren't party specific in their support.

What are you, one of those tv watching partisan fucktards?
