Apple is popular 'cause you can film yourself on a $650 iphone from the biggest corp in the world while claiming to be underprivileged and against corporate greed.
do you mean its stupid to own an iphone? or do you mean its stupid to pay 650$ for a phone? because in the usa and other places in north america phones are HEAVILY subsidized by the wireless companies.. so there are phones that are easily that price if you don't get a contract.. however if you do get a contract you end up paying say 0$ for it, but it means that you end up paying like 2 or 3x more in the long run for it
Having the internet in my pocket as well as a free gps and loads of entertainment doesn't seem like such a bad investment to me, especially not for 250$, without a contract.
*shrug* i don't see an issue with iphones or any other mobile phones... if they do what you want and you like them its really just a matter of preference..
i know lots of people who use blackberries and love them and i know lots of people who have iphones and like using them as well... just a matter of what you look for/need
i still use my palm pre and i like it, as a matter of fact i prefer using it to any other mobile device, WAY over dejas iphone, which i find just extremely cludgy.. but i don't think that someone who likes using iphones or whatever is stupid... kind of a strange statement really...
we have a lot of computer/tech at our house, and its a pretty big mix of operating systems, but its about what is best or easiest to use for a specific application.
I don't care what phones people blow their money on but it is just silly when they got all these signs about corporate greed and the guys holing the sign have fucking iphones and in the background is someone using their ipad to record it all and shit.
It sends a confusing message. Like, we hate corporate greed, but we like the consumption society...
people are kind of caught between a rock and a hardplace in some respects to technology...
its pretty much impossible to live without dealing with corporate greed now because its so entwined with everything, i agree people who are *THAT* much against corporate greed shouldn't be supporting those exact same companies.. but there really isn't that much of a 'choice' for them anymore... its basically like who are you going to support, evil company 1, 2 or 3?
I have an old samsung cell phone that cost me $100.
If my job required something else, they'd buy it, and it likely wouldn't be a fucking iphone.
Also, a protester doesn't need an ipad to protest.
Like at least leave the fucking thing at home instead of waving it around at your corporate greed protest. And wrap something around the fucking starbucks cup in your hand. I really don't need to hear about finances from morons who waste their money on stupid shit. Fuck if I was the type who could blow $4 on a coffee and $650 on a new iphone I'd be a brokeass loser too.
I meant you're an idiot if you pay that much for any type of phone. I think if you're going to blow that kind of money on something like a phone or 4 bucks for a fuckin crap coffee then you have absolutely no room to bitch about corporate greed. I really don't care what kind of plan or phone you have. I just can't justify spending 650 bucks on a phone.
thats ok..i wanted it at the tyme..i could afford it..thats why i've decided to GO PRO, the life tyme subscription next week..just promise me THAT wont be stupid...
