no... people have rights (at least in certain countries) and unless you give them probable cause they don't have the right to... the most important thing is to know your rights.. be polite and helpful but hold your ground when you are right...
if you dont let them search they will usually bring out the dog and the dog will give them probably cause because he just will.. Then the cops may search all they like, ive heard of this happening alot but they will only do this if there pretty sure as there isnt a shitload of dogs at any given moment.
Still have to get a written warrant signed by a judge. If you have it in plan view then they can arrest you. But as far as the dogs, an ok lawyer can easily get you off.
cops do NOT need a warrant to search things if they have probable cause (example they hear screaming from inside your trunk, they smell pot smoke, etc)
same as with a house.. if they see a house that has a smashed window they can safely go in and investigate that house without a warrant
right.. which is why the guy didnt get to search the car :P
the guy was kind of a dick tho when he was like do you have any priors in the last 3 years 'i dont know isnt that your job to check'
one time i had gotten pulled over and the cops searched my car but they never found anything. i was in a drug area and it was 3 or 4 am. im white and the two cops were black and i was driving in a black town. (orange, new jersey)
