Kill it then, I tried a tag search prior to upload but found nothing, just delete the sub or any sub that is a duplicate.

you should have done a search under stumps of flippers or some such shit

awwww fuck this fucking keyboard

FRIES, I've never seen this side of you.

i, also, would really like to be able to delete any of my stuff that turns out to be a repost (see:"Trees>Chipmunks)...maybe with Pro?
serious question.. well.. semi serious..
what is the issue with people posting reposts?
well, in my case anyway - i just felt like i was ripping off jones
6 years ago
Not sure why, I just know that I've kept myself from posting a lot of things out of the fear that it is already on here.
ive got some awesome shit saved but some are just hard to search so im reluctant to post
6 years ago
Hey now, I'm not against reposts possum, and it's always been my philosophy that failed posts shouldn't be deleted, but instead be ridiculed since fails fuel the comments.

so i mean like... really.. what are peoples issues with reposts...
im trying to get to the bottom of this 'issue' so we can find some sort of solution that isnt easily exploitable and works for the majority of people who are active on the site...
for me personally i dont want to keep seeing the same things featured over and over on the main page. but a lot of people who are active on the site i dont think even really browse the main page anymore, they browse the newest
would i be right in assuming that?
multiple word searches hardly ever show anything up in search is my problem and the people that havent tagged their shit right
6 years ago
i never have a problem finding a repost... so thats not really anything to do with my question.. my question is what are peoples ISSUES with reposts happening in the newest stuff
6 years ago
Yep, I focus on the "new" tap and refresh to see if there's new content to comment on. With the new format, every moment is two minutes to midnight! *Guitar riff*

not on the site enough is my guess
i check out the main page 1st, "new by points" 2nd, "newest 3rd"...but thats just me...

reposts bother me when they've been posted like 3 times in as many days. if something was from 2008 and gets reposted now, that doesn't bother me because back then was all the good stuff, so it's deserving of coming back.

I think for some it's a "if I can't get away with it, he can't either" situation, like a group mentality thing. We're all sadists here, and if we have reason to punish someone, we'll do it.
well possum thats how the flow of most people SHOULD go :P
but thats not really the case.. with me its newest by points, then newest. im on the site enough so i generally know whats probably going to end up getting featured by the time i come back to the site so i dont hit the main page too much
6 years ago
I don't really mind a repost unless it's something not even a couple months old.
@jones -good point!, but also - some people actually put effort into finding "Muchoworthy" stuff, and it soul-sucking to see noobs just slapping up 15 reposts in a row
6 years ago
i think part of the thing is, you guys are now seeing 'kind of' what we were seeing back with previous versions of mucho.. except in realtime.. and a way less bad version of it, because at least now people can see in the newest oh that was just posted (especially something super popular like say... some celebs leaked nakkies) on old mucho, we would literally have dozens of submissions from people of the exact same thing over and over... now that doesnt happen quite as much based on the format (at least people are mostly checking the newest page before posting... mostly)
but now instead of us being the protection from reposts its more a community effort, but that causes less people going to the featured (midnight syndrome on the old sites).
we might have to set up some sort of staging area for maybe us mods or maybe pro users to have posts go into a kind queue that allows people to approve/reject... i think the amount of pro people might be too large for that to work tho..
maybe we can have another level of people as repost police :P
*shrug* just trying to find a way to make the situation work better for most people
6 years ago
Yeah, if all Pro members got to moderate and check out the content early, it would probably hurt the comments, essentially splitting the members into two comment camps :/
6 years ago
yup
i was thinking more like... a slight delay
maybe a 10 min delay or something...
that way people that are on the site that are able to can get rid of obvious reposts/etc and things that they either ignore or let through still get showing up fairly rapidly.. maybe even 5 minutes to be honest... but just a small buffer
im basically just spitballing ideas
maybe allow pros to add proper tags wouldnt hurt
6 years ago
a delay might work...urks caught my repost within a minute or two last night...if i had seen his post, i wouldve deleted my sub
6 years ago
pro users probably wont get to add tags ;/
mods.. yes
That would help, unless some faggot decides to have a crush on someone and replace 'stfu' button with the the disapprove button.
good enough as long as somebody could police it it would make for less reposts
6 years ago
So this is what flipper did after he quit the show?
times are tough :(
but no... flipper actually committed suicide.. apparently dolphins in captivity are largely addicted to anti depressants because of the stress caused by all of the sounds in captivity, they basically go nuts... you should watch the cove
