How are they sure it was the radiation that caused this? Could have been a bad batch of Vodka.

There were virtually no animal defects as result of Chernobyl. The radiation emmited was very low. A lot of places have background radiation lower than the amount released by Chernobyl.
Check out the documentary about it, you can get it on torrent: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/5173310.stm

The documentary actually shows you another documentary maker/scientist who analysed wild animals in the area over varying years after the incident and although they had higher than normal levels of radiation they didn't exhibit an signs of genetic deformities. In fact people who live in areas with higher background radiation have lower levels of cancers. I studied it.

i still have that bridge if anyone is interested....

People living in areas with higher level of background radiation have lower levels of cancer, huh?

I'd suggest you check your facts before relocating.

What radiation can do, even if you live a couple of miles away from the disaster.

The experiment in question has been called into question and effectively countered by a lot of other scientists. There are thousands of experiments every year with incorrect conclusions. Just because it's science doesn't mean it's infallible.

Fallout let's go ahead and go back in time, move you to Hiroshima just after the nuke dropped. You'll love it there.

isn't wildlife thriving there?

First off, radiation isn't the problem with core meltdown, it's radioactive contamination. Second off, the article you cite only shows that the media blew the effects of the nuclear fallout way out of proportion. (BIG fucking shocker there.) There was some serious shit that went down at Chernobyl, more than the general public knows. There were most definitely serious cases of syndromic children born there left and right. Who gives a fuck about the dog. I wanna see the stillborn babies that looked like this.
