before the lightning started coming down i would have been out there driving 3 meter metal rods in the ground, when the lightning strikes the metal rod it can make some really interesting sculptures.

one time lighting struck in my yard while i was looking out the window like 15 yards away. wasnt a very big bolt i could see where it hit the ground and then the whole damn house shook. it was cool shit

Thanks for that electrifying story Kojach.

yard? Speak metric.
We don't take kindly to the metric system round here.

This is rare, but I agree with Kojach on this.

Lightning struck something about 30 feet away from my house and I was sitting by the window, the noise and shaking was incredible.

I fucking love thunder and lightning!

I bet you love movies about gladiators.

How much is 30 feet?

Bend over, I'll show you.

Seusafado, 10 yards.

It's 720 inches.

Or maybe 320 inches...

Lafayette for the mathematical FAIL.

How the hell did I get 720? I've completed 27 hours of college math classes yet I can't multiply 12 times 30, dammit.

If you want to see some sick lightning storms, head to the NE corner of Tennessee near Gatlinburg, it is spectacular.

Are you asking me out?
You buy the beer, I know where to go.

I still remember the storms in Iowa. Eastern WA has some great ones, too.

The storms in Mexico get pretty intense, but they have nothing on Florida when it comes to lightning.
Florida storms are the best!

Toolman, I was once at the top of the Space Needle in Gatlinburg when a lightning storm started. Leaving the tower was considered to be the clever option...

^sez the guy who's afraid to visit Merica
7 years ago
I'm not afraid to visit, I'm too broke to go right now. Mericaland and Canadalandia are the places that I will visit as soon as I get my ransom payments.

Clam 1: "Is it raining?
Clam 2: "Hang on, I'll go up and look"

Not one of your better ones Claude.
He's a piss clam.
No, see...lightning strikes the tallest object, and since it's a flat stretch of beach, a clam sticking up would...fuck it.

You can see the ground vaporiszing where it hits the ground. Little yellow plasma bolt.
the truth is lightning travels from the ground to the cloud, it just happens so fast that it looks the other way around
