Governmental Control of the Internet

Very fucking boring, and the voice sounds automated, but it's important.

It's ok because the government is mostly interested in stopping terrorism and protecting our children.

Our legislators care about us. Their concern about whether or not I get the flu comforts me.
What kind of a fucking moron are you? The gov't is ONLY interested in filling their pockets with our cash.
Seems to me you're the moron here, moron.

the patriot act did!
No one read the patriot act. Not even the sponsors.
wow, you conservatives are some whiny cocksuckers aren't you? Aren't you also the once who say 'if you have nothing to hide, you should have nothing to be worried about?'
Good to see your political affiliations haven't blinded you to tyranny.
This isnt about political parties dumbass, it's about American rights in general. It's not "cyber-security of blacks" or "internet control of the rich" it's all of us. bush passed the patriot act, the largest oxymoron i can remember. don't think this is a warning of liberals, it politicians in general.
good to see your political affiliations haven't prevented you from recognizing or responding to a very good point.

again, the funny thing is that people are stupid enough to think that there really has been some change of the guard since obama took office. you've got the assholes who think bush was ok, now we're fucked, and the equally-stupid assholes who think that we were fucked, and now we're ok.
That was my point. We weren't, and aren't ok. Obama could hold a live press conference where he ate a live kitten, stomped a retarded baby to death, and wiped his ass with the original copy of the Constitution, and some libzombie would skim over, and (without contemplating or addressing his actions) shift the argument back to the other side, angering the Bushophiles...etc. ad nauseum. Exhibit A is Biff down there\/. Divide and conquer.
I'd like him more if he did the baby thing.

RandyWatson is a fucking moron, oh and FUCK OBAMA.

Did you fuck the reply button too?

Hank's not going to be happy about that

I don't mind sharing her, but in her heart there is only Hank.

Nothing strange here. Just American rights continuing to be fleeced in the name of security and stability. Doesn't matter anyway. China owns most of my country already, may as well get used to the government deciding what's best for me.

How can America decide that it can regulate the internet?
Contrary to popular belief, the internet does not belong to America.

Then again, when has not having the right to do something ever stopped them before?
they have the right to kiss my ass

A bit of politics....nice

Come on Burnley!

Hey, fuck you cheeky!

They can regulate it in the U.S.

Soccer is boring.
Yes, it is.

Damn those Illuminati NWO asshole, they're at it AGAIN!

In case you haven't heard from TiredGuy, the New World Order is the secret organization that runs the world, and for some reason the members of this secret hush-hush conspiracy keep referring to it in their speeches, i.e. Bush Sr.

The most remarkable thing about these people who perform scary bad acts of owl-worship and secretly run the world, is that its ideologically diverse members manage to achieve consensus on their agenda for the entire world at the Bilderberg conference that lasts for a mere three days per year. This hasty approach to global domination may possibly explain why the world is in a bit of a mess.

Or, maybe...

Like it mentions in the video, espionage is a big threat to not just the US, but the West in general. Many countries, most notably China, are basically a decade behind in military technology, and stealing ours is kind of important to them. Thousands of attacks on our computer networks are made every day by China alone. If they manage to corrupt a network in this day and age, power, communication, airline traffic control, it could all be thrown into chaos.

Have you people not seen Die Hard 4?
China would never do something like that.
As if I'm falling for that.
Maybe they shouldn't use a public worldwide network for air traffic control and military secrets.
They should have their own internet?
Completely unattached to any system that is connected to our internet?
That would work...
Oh no, no it wouldn't.
How do you think things worked before the internet?
Using the internet for this shit is like putting satellite tv signals out there everywhere then trying to sue people into not watching them.
One time I had the radio in my car up loud and some people waked by and heard it. I hope the music industry sues those assholes. I had to buy the CD and they can just listen to it because I happen to play it in public? Fucking bullshit.
I do, yes.

The worked slowly before the internet.
For what its worth, air traffic control data is not directly fed to the internet. You can get plane locator info though, which is kind of cool.

The internet worked slowly too, private networks were actually faster than the internet when it first hit.

You want information out in public and secure at the same time. It's not gonna happen. That's like getting mad at someone because they overheard your cell phone conversation and made fun of you for being a flaming british homo.
I remember I was helping someone move once in the city and making a ton of noise shoving stuff around the moving truck. This fucking chinky loser on the street on a cell phone walks over, look in the truck, and asks me if I mind keeping it down. WTF? So of course I grabbed a heavy suitcase and started slamming it against the side of the truck until he left.
Or when a chick gets pissed off at you because you stare at her while she breastfeeds her baby and you have a hand down your pants. Fuck you bitch, you don't want me playing with myself while I watch you stick your giant milkbag in some luckly little fucker's mouth, then don't fucking do it in public.
I'm not sure what Oranje's links mean. We get attacked every day. It isn't like it is new news.
That we funny, but...

It isn't at all public what they are tring to protect. It's like banks which are on streets filled with shops. People are encouraged to walk around look in the shops, maybe visit the bank too. That does not mean they are allowed to just walk into the bank, into the vault & help themselves to money. They need security measures to ensure people don't do that.
Wanko...that hand in the pants stuff is just inconvenient. Well, for us at least.
The bank can do whatever they want within the bank to protect the bank. If the bank can shut down the city and setup fucking road blocks, then it's a different matter
8 years ago
I'm not sure what Oranje's links mean. We get attacked every day. It isn't like it is new news.

That is my whole fucking point!
Stop cutting and pasting like a faggot.
Kirk makes a good point.
I'm sorry.
It's funny how Republicans turned a blind eye when the Bush administration was busy tapping into our personal info, some of it for political gain. From email, to personal phone calls between spouses, there was no venue of communication that the neocons didn't tap.
Now the right-wing cons are up in arms because Obama wants to combat the growing risk of cyberattacks.
Go figure!

Foreign governments/intelligence agencies couldn't possibly use the internet to hack into government networks, right Wanko?

Are you fucking retarded? Civilians can do it, and have.

Why don't they just use mucho chat for their secret conversations the declare that because they use it, they have the right to shut it down when we cyberattack them by calling them fags.
The risk of 'cyberattack' grows because they make more attackable shit available.
Only gay countries would use chat, like England.
Orange, the government has every right to defend it's agenda from foreign governments. But this is pretty extreme legislation wouldn't you say?
we invented chat
You invented gay chat.
Where everyone sits around with a cup of tea and talks about how gay they are.
And they dress up like women and play with dolls.
I see you've visited us before
When I visit the US, I'll be sure to put on a little weight, drink 'light' beer, take part in a Civil War re-enactment, completely ignore any type of international affairs, laugh hysterically in a movie theatre to let everyone know I found Dane Cook slipping on a fish funny, shout "wooo hooo" when the bad guy inevitably loses as though it is some kind of fucking surprise, assume ever eastern looking person is a terrorist & vehemently support a political party without really knowing much about their policies.

That way, I'll immerse myself into the culture & achieve a great realistic experience.
..and cut off half your brain, don't forget that
8 years ago
Make sure you quit talking like a fag first.
Easy. I'll just say things like "y'all, grits, soda, gas & auto mobile."
Won't take much to fool the locals, I'm sure.
If I walk into a 'gas station', wearing a pair of cowboy boots & a waistcoat with a stars and stripes design & say:

'Hey, y'all got some grits and soda. I'd also like to pay for the gas that I done & put in my auto mobile'

People will convince themselves they've actually seen me in town before. Maybe even drank light beer in a bar.
Careful, they might test you by asking you what a pop can is made of.
Aloooominum.
they could ask you what health supplements are called...

If you get stuck somewhere, go to the nearest bar and implore the clientele "Me mates got me lorry mired up a right bit, give us a tug, will ya?

Hilarity will ensue.
