Thats about the only good part of nascar, the crashes.

And drunk redneck women.

It has over 75 million fans, most of their tracks have seats for 100k-200k+ people and most of them are sold out. Although I agree it is boring, I imagine if you are into cars you would like nascar, maybe not on tv but definitely live. Kind of like other sports, if you enjoy playing basketball, you are pretty much going to enjoy watching it and it only gets better when you experience it live.

Im into motorcycles, and I admit I dont watch those races, and am also an avid rider myself.
Okay, I'm into cars. And I'll admit, the cars are impressive. Watching it is fucking boring, though.
I could understand people being interested in watching car races on unique tracks, but when the track is just a big circle.... eh whatever

cars are nice, nascar sucks though.

There's no intensity in NASCAR. It just doesn't exist. The cars are big, fat, and slow. When one crashes, it's a gradual 500ft endeavour that you see coming a mile away. An F1 (or moto) accident snaps into form, catching most off guard, and involes many high g-forces. Plus all the sharp bits of carbon go flying. It's way better if you're just into watching shit crash.

Well people have different views on what a nice car is. Some like classics, some love a great engine, then you have the ones that like 24s, nitro, hydrolics, suped up hondas. Those accessories are all garbage. I mean why have a car look nice and run like shit? Any asshat can over accessorize their car with crap like a tv or ps3 but when are you ever going to use that stuff? You are using the engine 100% of the time so that's what's important. A couple years ago I won free tickets from a Coke or Pepsi cap (can't remember which) and I tried selling them but nobody wanted them, so I figured I might as well go. I was never into racing and I am still not but it was pretty awesome sitting a couple rows back and hearing the engines roar past you. On tv it doesn't really look like they are going 190 mph, but up close it's pretty cool and you wonder how much skill you need to drive that fast, that close for 2-3 hours without crashing. Some people can't even go 15 and not make a mistake. There were also a lot of young women there, at least half the crowd were women. They have a fan fair before every event where you can do a meet and greet, autographs and pictures so that's pretty nice for fans. Every line had nothing but women in it, women love the drivers and men love the cars. I bet they get plenty of ass. When was the last time there was a meet and greet with your local baseball, football, or basketball team? They only hold one even per year.

Yeah I just wrote that much, deal with it.

In America you can find plenty of rednecks who'd pay for this. Get some piece of shit band like Puddle of Mud and, you got yourself a nascar event.
Get back to you in a few ..im trying to deal with it.

I don't care of anything you guys talk. I like the car ImpalaSS 1996 LOL

no one slammed a certain style of car, just race parameters...and you say nitrous makes a car garbage? I'm confident in saying that there are more 9 sec camaro's running no2 than ricers with it. NASCAR popularity hit its zenith a few years ago but the with the economy in the shape its been, the last 2-3 years havent done anything for the sport. like you said yourself, you couldn't give tickets away. I've been to bristol about 4 times since 2000. The first two times i went, there wasnt an empty seat. The last two years have had a much lower attendance. god i cant believe im even talking about nascar.

thats in response to enterdix.
Yeah that's right, PublicSecrecy, NASCAR cars are really slow...
this wreck occurred at almost 200 miles per hour, there isn't much that goes beyond those speeds and sustains them for this long of a race
9 years ago
^ engineering an F1 car is far more difficult than making an engine that can go 200mph for a while. Not saying that one is better than the other as a sport but in terms of technical engineering difficulty, F1 wins hands down.
i've got an f1 in my pants you can engineer
9 years ago
It's clearly the danger factor that makes it so popular. I relate it to bull riding. Crazy as fuck to do, boring as shit to watch.
i forgot about D1GP or formula D.

Sorry dik, not into 1:43 scale models.

Heh....NHRA fan here....You want engines? Nothing's better than the suped up fury that is barely covered by aerodynamic fiber glass.

Best fucking wreck in years, gotta love restrictor plate racing and the fact that stupid edwards was the one creamed. the only thing that would have made this better is if junior had been the one taken out by edwards car instead of newman, then perfection would have been had.
I 2nd ^^^
Makes me fucking sick to go to the race in Dallas every year and see these fucktard idiot fans that go apeshit whenever Jr.s name is mentioned. Hid dad was a dick but at least he had a track record. Jr is and dick and he can't win for shit.
well spoken, the most over rated sports personality in history
9 years ago
I laugh at this, mainly because I hate Nascar.
yup the only good thing is the crash.
