Bob Sheppard hasn't been calling games for a couple years now because of an illness. He hasn't officially retired yet though and plans on coming back. The dude is 98.

Jeter refuses to have his number announced by anyone else. But like you said, Bob hasn't officially retired. I wouldn't be surprised if he came back, though...we're talking about a guy that witnessed Mickey Mantle's entire career.

He did announce the lineup of the last game at Yankee Stadium last year, but I think it was pre-recorded from his home.

Now that's a guy that is committed to his job. I can't imagine what the Bronx is gonna look like tomorrow-they're actually telling people to be in their seats by noon.

I haven't even seen what the new stadium looks like. I hope it's not one of these tiny homerun friendly parks. Bring back the 450 feet to center field stadiums. Make these pussies earn their homeruns.
