It would be awesome if some one could find a clip of this hittin a person.
its not meant to shoot at people, and i doubt durka durkas have any so youre not going to find one

I think in one of the RoboCop movies, there is a guy who gets hit by a car after falling in a vat of chemicals... He pops alot like a water ballon. I think it might be the effect you're looking for.

50's are supposed to be anti material weapons too, that dosent mean people dont get shot with em. Trust me, I know a few of the snipers in my company and a target is a target regardless of living or not, nobody cares what weapon get used.

Watch the movie "The Jackal(1997)".
There is a scene where Bruce Willis uses a guy for target practice with a similar rifle.

wasn't that jack black?
Yes it was.

Bring on the spall baby!

Now I got to get two paper routes.

Help me understand this; millimeters are millimeters, how do you measure caliber?
Fractions of an inch. .50 Caliber is 1/2 inch. .357 magnum .40 S&W Get it?
I think its a portion of an inch like .22inch .357inch .50inch.
Hm. Ok. -I never understood why Dirty Harry carried a .44; the biggest handgun in the world, when there's a .45. =/
9 years ago
45 may be a slightly larger diameter bullet but the 44 magnum is longer, that means it will shoot faster out of the barrel and carry more energy, fyi 44mag is no longer king
9 years ago
I think people don't fully appreciate the powder behind a bullet enough.
wrong. in a lot of cases, the names of calibers are more monikers than actual measurements. as just one example, the .38 special is the same diameter as the .357 mag (.38 ammo can actually be used in .357 mags).

some idiots have created hg calibers more powerful than .44 mag, but since you can (literally) hunt elephant with a .44 mag, they're just novelties. if you've never fired a hg before, "even" a .357 mag would surprise you with a good load.

speaking of good loads...

Claude, most of the world measures calibre in mm, caliber in thou's. If you've got a 9mm Glock, then you really should describe its calibre as 9mm and not its caliber as 9mm. But nobody ever does.
^ good point and stop sniffing the smokeless powder. bullet length, diameter and powder charge all make a difference. 1/2 power .357 load feels like a .38+p. even a .357 at half load still has a nice kick. but if anything really has an affect on the end result it would have to be the amount of powder pushing the bullet.
Just adding to the discussion but caliber is also used to describe naval artillery too. In those terms caliber is used to describe the length of the barrel in multiples of the diameter of the shell. A 10cm 50 caliber gun has a 500cm or 5meter barrel.
Look at this SOB.

I want one of those.
I want this! so much. Ive got another set of uni halls like 50 yards from my window, and i want to use this on every un-suspecting fucker outside!
You're one sick bastard.
But it would be kinda fun to watch passerby's. Now you're there, now you're not!
You'd get spray-back at that range.
Nice in theory, but it does not seem practical for most combat situations. The Barrett is much less bulky, and much better thought out.
I agree... its all nice a good to make a monstrous gun but for it to be practical for its niche. The Barret does seem to be a good combination of weight vs strength. But who knows what technology will yield?
I think it's more of a specialty weapon...made to eliminate high value targets. What some countries refer to as an an anti-materiel weapon.
damn right, someone actually listened
*puts gold star next to mako's name*
That .50 barret gun you posted before seems much more practical and deadly.Afterall,it has a high rate of fire and can hit targets from great distances. That is the reason that gun exist,to kill soft targets from great distances-not for "material"
Whore.
wtf?
I like the musical score.
How much do one of these cost?
Equivalent to about $45,000.
smart design
yeah I like how it can be taken apart with one of its own shells.
yeah thats what i mean
Looks like a little doggie holding the rifle in the thumbnail.
that's why i clicked to watch! man was i ever disappointed..
I think it would be a better sales video if they had had a dog firing it. Preferably a puppy, everybody likes cute puppies.
What the heck, from one side, and the first clip he is shooting in, it looks like its a dachshund doing the shooting.
Also available in the compact "Big mouth punk kid on the bus" version.
Does it still count as a sniper rifle if you can't actually hide with it, and need a vehicle to effectively move it?
If you're done with a single round and no-one saw you setting up yesterday...?
looks like the sniper rifle from halo
