God damn it I hate inflation.
And I don't think the Louisiana Purchase cost 217 billion. Unless this is adjusted for inflation.
inflation is an inevitability when the money is made out of thin air....
Actually the paper is made out of cloth. And yes, it says that it is adjusted for inflation.
oh jesus j0sh don't tell me you're one of them ron paul economic people that thinks that debt is the only reason for money
9 years ago
TotallyDid, nice job on actually looking at the table. You win, Josh = lose
9 years ago
Since we owe a gang of money to the chinese, we shouldn't be creating any more money at all, period...
Surely it was a coincidence that the pie chart on the left was red..
You just love you some pies, don't you, Rolanda?

Does the red remind you of when I waved the red flag in your face like a bull and then burned you with my cigarette as you stumbled by?

You clumsy bitch. You broke my coffee table.
James, yes it's inflation adjusted. Otherwise the second pie would be maybe 1 pixel.

Drum exactly how do you think money works? Does your theory involve cheeseburgers?
1 pixel? That's about the size of your cock, isn't it?
money works as a bartering system, you use money to exchange for goods or services. instead of me having to trade pelts to a guy who wants corn I can trade money so he can take that money and buy corn
9 years ago
Except you trade all your pelts for pizza and coke, you fat fuck. Now shut up and sit down.
My cock is one pixel on a 24" monitor with 2x2 resolution.
Ok Drum, and where does that money come from? Under what circumstances does a 1 dollar bill come into existence?
from the mints produced by the treasury
Wrong, the mints produce money for the Federal Reserve which is not part of the government.
only about 3% of the money in circulation is made at the treasury, drumrave, the rest is printed by banks with permission of the government. and until anyone can prove to me what physical entity backs this paper's value everyone needs to stfu. watch zeitgeist.
yes federal reserve. thank you pussyhands couldnt think of it.
until 1972 the dollar was backed by the price of gold, after that it's on a global market, how the worth is determined idk
9 years ago
Money: MMSS

Medium
Measure
Store
Standard

That is what money is.
this is why i only save Lupins
The value of a currency is made up of many many factors. For example the US dollar is artificially high due to so many other countries keeping it in reserve. If these reserves were unloaded, the dollar would be almost worthless & your stinking country would collapse.
every dollar at the central bank is loaned to the people at interest.that means every dollar lent out is expected back with a certain percentage. ask yourself: where the fuck do we get the percentage? we dont. look at the debt of america in the last 30 years vs the value of the dollar in the same time span you can see this scam for what it is.
orangebloom ftw! i cant wait for that day...
Talking about the value of money. Just look at the topic of this pic. The bailout is equivalent to around $24,000 for every single man, woman & child in the US. Another way to put it is, it's enough money to pay off half of all mortgages in the US.

You want to check the US national debt, its enormous. Impossible to pay off. You owe us Brits over £300billion.
what about "lend-lease"?
that only works for possums.
and we want our money back. Now. Just send a check.
I don't know what Faggeist said but whatever it was it was probably dumbed-down bullshit. The commercial banks don't print money, they lend on reserve. The same amount of cash exists no matter what. Actual US cash in the world is around 850 billion, the remaining trillions of dollars is all receipts for cash. The idea is you can get cash from the bank by surrendering some of those digits in your bankbook. That's all banks print.

Drum yes the treasury prints a dollar bill. That bill is a receipt, printed because someone (Fed reserve bank, for example) has lent 1 dollar to the US.

Cash represents debt, and the commercial banks hold cash and give out receipts for it. Receipts for receipts. Receipts backed by other receipts.
el wanko, you have explained nothing new. i suggest you shove your ignorance up your ass and watch the movie. they explain things way better than i, or certainly you can
9 years ago
i love it when they finally run out of stupid and smart ass comments.
makes my day worth living.

LONG LIVE JOSH!

I'm glad that I don't pay taxes.

Suck it, US government!
^ atta boy!^
I don't pay US taxes either.
what about value added taxes? what about inflation as a tax?
I pay sales tax when I purchase things at a store but not income tax.

It's unconstitutional.
Plus you don't have an income.
Haha, that's true as of right now but when I do find a job again, I will be claiming exempt on my tax forms. There was a supreme court case stating that the government would be going against the constitution by forcibly making American citizens pay income tax. Look it up.
Good luck with that.
theres a guy at my work who babbles on about that tax shit..wake up man...you have to pay taxes..ask willie nelson
9 years ago
In theory, all taxes are illegal. In the UK there is a crime of "Demanding money with menaces", the government says give us some of your money, or we will put you in jail. Is there any difference, literally speaking?
So it's not like Big Dave threatening to knee cap you and rape the missus?
Government goes against the constitution all the time. What makes you think they'll stop for you?
It's exactly like that... almost. But I'm tough, I am, I told Big Dave to fuck off.

over the phone.
Fugs the difference is that your legal identity is owned by the government. In a way, you were entered into an agreement upon a birth certificate being issued in your name. You continue to renew that agreement by using your legal identity, and part of the agreement involves taxes. You exist to them as property and your tax dollars from your potential future labor is used as collateral which they can borrow against.
Well, the bastards!

My parents, I mean, for being law abiding citizens and getting me a birth certificate.
Well the law requiring parents to report births is statutory, so because your parents' identities were owned by the government, they have to hand yours over as well.

In theory you could return all your government issued ID and possibly return ownership of your life to you. Then you would be only under the jurisdiction of common law (law of the land) and exempt from income tax. I don't know if anyone's managed to do it. The people who claim to have done it seem to lack the knowledge necessary to even understand it, so I assume they're all talk.
They could have pretended to be gypsies, over here they aren't required to register births, nor do they pay tax, but they always seem to be getting some welfare. The grabbing bastards.
I fucking hate pikeys
Wtf is the "law of the land"?
The queer US constitution
American Common law is basically English Law
9 years ago
Are the Brits sill sore about the US kicking them out of this country ?
*still
I think you'll find that noone really gave a shit when they actually left. Leaving defeated would have been a bitch, but leaving 'cause you can't be arsed anymore would have been a relief.
" Battle of N.O. " , they had to leave .
Do some research & you'll see, for all intents and purposes*, it ended as a draw.

*See what I did there; English Law.
There is a difference between a battle and a war, Aqua.
We are still brothers , but :)
The treaty of Ghent was signed before the battle of NO, anyway. If it wasn't, I seriously doubt that the battle of NO would have made much difference in the long term.
In the end we still fight along side of each other , so I guess it does not really matter .
That's when your lot's not shooting the shit out of ours...
And don't blame all of for that Bush tard .
"Oops sorry guys, we thought you were the enemy."
Hank "Law of the Land" is common law. So, if you're in America, you are in the geographic boundaries of America. You are therefore subject to common law. Now, if the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, as a business, owns your legal identity or has an agreement with the corporation that does, you are subject to statutory law.

Common law basically requires that crimes have victims (ie. assault). Statutory law is based on you breaking your contract with another party (government) and this is how you get crimes that have no victims (ie. smoking a joint.)

It's "Law of the Land" because it literally is of the land where you are standing.
I am sure that never happings with Brits .
Perils of war .
If I was in a war and I saw a bunch of faggy toothless fuckers drinking tea, I'd fucking kill them too.
And to all our Canadian bros & sisters , you all should be happy that Bush asshole is gone , he was thinking of attacking Canada for your oil and also for sending all that Canadian cold air down here , fact .
Friendly fire happens in all wars, but you Americans seem to have down to a fine art. Maybe you should start installing bifocal windows in your aircraft.
And if you want to see some tough law , we are are under Napoleonic law :(
9 years ago
No Wanko, the law of the land is the constitution & Common Law (English Law) is completely separate.
Napoleon, what a cunt!
Don't blame me MrFugs , I can hit a 3 in. circle at 100 yards , open sight .
Yeah , that Napoleon guy did have a badass attitude .
"If I was in a war and I saw a bunch of faggy toothless fuckers drinking tea, I'd fucking kill them too."
Hahahahahaha!
Well looking at the clock with the funny Roman numbers , its time to make a cigg and beer run .
What with, Aqua, a Howitzer?
I'm calling bullshit on the 100 yards open sights thing. I could hit it with my pellet gunn no problem, but I would have to use a scope. I don't think I could even see a 6in. circle from 100 yards.
*3in.
I wouldn't be able to say, I've never shot on a long range, only indoor stuff, but 3" at 100 yards does seem pretty darned small.

Maybe it's an age thing.
I love cock!!
^What?
I knew it!
Rish , care to make make a friendly wager ?

You gotta break up the link but I'll assume it goes to an article on how the 700 billion number is nothing compared to the true figure.
That link works fine for me, by simply copying and pasting it.

Its an article entitled 'U.S. Pledges Top $7.7 Trillion to Ease Frozen Credit', about where the money has gone, and will be going.
