Obama comes across as just another empty headed nanny-state liberal. Not surprised the kids like him

I can't believe there are any morons in this country that will vote for that guy. Between McCain and Obama, it's like voting for Dumb and Dumber. McCain's as bad as Bush, and Obama doesn't have a lick of experience.
the fuck is experience? experience doing what? so.. someone has "presidential" experience before becoming a president? you seem to have soaked up media propaganda very well. But wait, i dislike obama too but for other, logical, reasons.
Little experience, huh? So, he hasn't learned how to lie, accept bribes or diddle the interns?
Well your choice is well spoken empty suit with racist/Marxist background, hates success and the wealthy (unless they’re last name is Obama) panders to special interest groups, has NO foreign policy experience, plans on taxing to death anyone who makes a decient living, might not make a bad President except we already have a Democrat majority in BOTH houses.

Choice two is a senile open border corporate whore who is just as disconnected with reality as Chimp-boy, runs on his “service” but sees no problem in staying in that Islamic shit hole and sticking the American tax payers with another $Trillion in debt……………………to the Chinese.

I’m going to have to roll with a 3rd party, fuck the GOP and the Dem’s!

I'm in complete agreement, espada. At the rate we're going, in 20 years we'll be voting for plants.

Nigger please, its not even close McCain is alot better for prez then that flip flopping douche bag obama. If you think the magic negro is going to pull us out of Iraq your are crazy. (besides we are finally winning so why leave now?) thats why you dont hear much news about Iraq anymore cause IEDs are down 90% Deaths are way down. IF you think obama's ideas on fuel are going to reduce the price at the pump then you are retarded. At least McCain is for off shore drilling and soon he will be for ANWR but thats all besides the point we need a President that will pick good conservative jurors for the SC so we have common sense rulings we had yesterday

wowowow, first of all espada youre a fuckin douchebag. hes racist because hes black and that must mean he wants to get back at whitey, amirite!? fucking tool, and who doesnt hate rich people rich people are fuckin douches like you....are you rich? doesnt take money from special interests, youre a moron. tell me how much foreign policy experience the lawyers, doctors, professors, soldiers and farmers who made the fucking country had. and yes hes taxing the shit out of anyone who makes $2 million+ so what they can afford it, im gonna take a guess and say youd rather have a flat tax and take $3,000 from the single mother making $15,000 a year which is just fucking stupid

lars how many times did you get dropped on your fuckin head to think that drilling will solve anything? drill drill drill! theres gold in them there hills! no drilling wont do a fuckin thing if you want lower gas prices either sell your suv you dont need it you stupid sob, or get a fuckin electric car, or tell them to build more refineries. its not the drilling its the refineries, the supply is NOT low or decreasing i dont know why you stupid fucking think gas prices are rising but it isnt because we're running out

and holy fuck winning in iraq? ORLY? is their shitty government taking the reigns too? are the shiites and sunnis frolicking in the streets with the turks playing shitty music? no you stupid bitch it doesnt matter if they arent killing our soliders anymore no one wants to waste time trying to get people who have been at war for thousands of years to try to be friends and run a fuckin country right. the only option is pull out and let them duke it out and hope iran doesnt get in there and finally find the non-existent WMDs

yes we totally need more conservative justices to take away freedoms because the bible says we arent supposed to have them in the first place.

Changing the "system" is not accomplished by abstaining, writing in a candidate, or voting for a third party candidate. It can be modestly affected with one's vote for a mainstream presidential candidate, congressmen, and senators (to amend the House, Senate, and Court balance of power). Write letters to editors, talk to your friends, donate time or money to a candidate you favor. Engage in the primaries and the general election ... it's more effective than whining.

Voting is not therapy. It's not something one does with the objective to "feel good" about oneself. To be a valued citizen, voting is something one does with a sincere interest in improving the country and our responsibilities to our global neighbors, and our descendants. That means, vote for the candidate, with the most integrity and responsible positions, who can win.

There also is a maxim about "the best way for evil to win is for good to do nothing." Casting one's vote in a way that makes no difference whatsoever is tantamount to abstaining. A vote that one knows damn well doesn't matter is simply attempting to "feel good" about being an electoral martyr. Martyrdom is only successful if you are called to it and are visible.

In European countries, voting for minor parties does make a difference, because they hold parliament seats proportionally. In the U.S, it just splits one side and allows the other side to win. If one wants influential third parties, work with your representatives to change the Constitution to allow for proportional representation. In Europe, the candidates who can win, adjust their policies to appeal to people who vote for unwinnable candidates. In the U.S., it nearly always works the other way around. The unwinnable candidates damages the side closest to their own. Sometimes they can raise issues during the campaign, but the act of voting for them does not move the party closest to them their direction.

Voting is easy, so it is tempting to think that one can send a message and change things in your party or country by doing it. Unfortunately, sending messages and changing the system takes considerable effort, and voting for a third party candidate can be counter-productive to these goals. It is ineffective at best and damaging at worst for the country, the people, and our political system. It just lazily provides you a fleeting, illusory "feel good."

exactly, alot of people dont like mccain or obama but if they vote for ron paul or, god help them, nader and mccain ends up getting elected they should just die
9 years ago
i can agree with that, something well said, yet everyone already knows this too. you need to realize the american people have been dumbed down and made lazy. We seem to like our televisions, clothes, drugs, and fancy cars more than our future, values, and liberties. I guarantee 90% of Obama supporters no very very little about his planned policies/agenda. The simple fact he's portrayed as a "rockstar", and wants "change" won his popularity. It's a fucking joke.

And also, i STRONGLY doubt our votes are even counted. Im sure the rockefellers had a party when voting went electronic.
I agree with your "dumbed down" and "awareness" comments, not the other. It's unfortunate, but a fact of life. But, not something to roll over on ... to take as a fait accompli. The candidates' positions are posted on their websites (strong, weak, and indefensible). Their integrity can be gleaned from independent (non-partisan) analytic sites that compare political records, rhetoric, and campaign behavior. Inform the lazy, though you can't make them drink.

my favorite part about these mucho debates is when people talk about taxes, and how taxing the rich more is bad... so taxing people who make less money more is a good thing? and taxing people who barely pay any taxes as it is because they are so rich they can get around it is good... i see.
no wonder the usa is going even further into the shitter with logic like that.
when only what? 10% of your population makes up probably 90% of the peoples wealth in the country, you want to oppress the group that needs the most tax breaks, which leads to noone buying anything, because they don't have the money, then noone selling anything because noone is able to buy anything... rich people don't help much of anything but themselves... thats how most of them get and stay rich.

One could extrapolate analogies from voting behavior to one's behavior in any form of relationship. Human behavior is reasonably consistent. So, it could be inferred that how one engages in work and inter-personal relationships; the passion, the commitment, the accountability, the maturity, will also be their political or civic behavior (and vice versa).

We need everybody's honorable vote.

yak, it sounded just like you were talking about the UK there, tax the poor to feed the (tax relieved) rich. A guy I know has a production line consultancy business he runs with a friend, they charge companies around £500 per day each plus expenses 7 days a week (usually 3-4 month jobs) the two of them, as "employed directors" take a wage of around £150 per week which is taxed, after that, they can pay themselves dividends from the company profit tax free. So they can legitimately take say £6000 p.m. extra and not pay tax on it, while us ordinary working class folk have to pay tax on almost everything we earn. The higher up the ladder you are, the lower the tax bill. (If you've got a good accountant).
Yak the poor don't pay any taxes, how much is 14% out of $17,000?
Taxation never created wealth, jobs or economic growth.
How about HOLDING THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT ACCOUNTIBLE???

Its the fucking insane spending thats killing us and BOTH parties are doing it.
I don't mind paying my fair share but what do I get in return for it?
NOTHING!
Flat tax anyone?

Kojach: Obama is a racist because he bases his ideology on race not because he is black.
I would have voted for Colin Powell in a heartbeat.
If you associate with fuck head race profiteers like Rev Wright, FaraKKKan, etc you subscribe to RACISM!
I'm missing your logic. What is Obama's ideology that you believe is based on race, and how so?
...because if you're assertion is that to associate with somebody who emodies racism, that does not, in and of itself, qualify for the term racist. (we could make many false assumptions about the association of people to this site and what that "makes them"). Racism is a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to rule others. How is this at the basis of Obama's ideology and how is that borne out in his life and policy positions?
Just asking, because your reference above to "Chimp-boy" is ill-advised lest your comments to be written off as racist themselves. So, I'm just checking how open you are to defend your position. It's not one I'm familar with. And, I don't want to be a bigot. (Bigotry: stubborn and complete intolerance of any creed, belief, or opinion that differs from one's own.)

oh wow youre one of the retards that believed obama agrees with wright, youve been conquered by the media, they now own your vote

let me tell you something, obama is not racist, and he isnt even religious. he joined that church because it was the biggest, most influential black church in the area and he wanted to get into politics and that was the easiest way to win votes. yes it was a political move and thats kind of dbaggy but not as much as you

espada9: 1. Could you explain what you mean by your reference to Obama as an "empty suit"?
2. What is the Obama background that you have knowledge of that makes him racist/Marxist?
3. What actions has Obama undertaken that you define as "hates success and the wealthy"?
4. What policy proposals or voting history has Obama made that qualify as "taxing to death anyone who makes a decient (sp) living"? Please qualify "taxing to death" and "decient (sp) living."
5. What is the "Democratic majority in BOTH houses" you refer to that "we already have"? And, what is the relevance to Obama's presidency to which you are inferring?
