What are you talking about?

Students are phobic of washing dishes. Never mind...
you are definitively a fag if you wear gloves when your washing dishes

^Wo, wo, wo Chris - YOU sucked MY dick. Go put your gloves back on, get back in the kitchen and finish off my dishes, bitch!

I'll admit my job isn't v.exciting, but it has its perks, and is just a means to cash that I can use to enjoy time outside of work.

your job is fine I'm questioning your intelligence ,sense of humour and frankly your sexuality

Weiner jokes aside, it's nearly impossible to find decent sausages in Japan. Or cheese, bread, beer...

*Starts crying*
Most Japanese beer is smooth, clean and tasty - what's not to like?
But yeah, I craved 'basic' Western food after a month or so.
i've never had any japanese beer that was what i'd consider 'good' beer by any stretch of the imagination ;/
i guess it depends on your taste in beer tho, but i prefer beer that has distinctive taste(s), most mexican, and japanese beer that i've had lacks that quality ;)
don't get me wrong tho, they are ok for summer time drinking *shrug*
10 years ago
Yeah, I understand what you mean Yak - they perhaps lack character, but i'm keen on fresh beer that doesn't taste like it's full of chemicals (yuk!).
BTW Have you tried Japanese beer on draught in Japan? Obviously bottled varieties will suck regardless (except Chang - v.good, but actually Thai), and exported barrels won't hold up well after long journeys.
While we're on the subject of beer: you should check-out Innis & Gunn - truely AMAZING character/body and very smooth/fresh from bottles.
Web-site suggests they sell it in North America too.
Godammit i'm even a geek about beer:
"Using oak to age beer is unheard of. But, the flavours imparted by the oak barrels (previously used to mature bourbon) lend an incredible depth of
taste. Think vanilla, toffee and orange aromas, with a malty,
lightly oaked palate; soothing and warm in the finish."
Pretencious, but v.accurate.
*Pretentious. Apologies to the spelling Nazis.
It's good stuff. I like trying new beers every now and again. Got a couple of bottles from Sainsburys and it was very nice. I like the Batemans stuff like Summer Swallow and Combined Grain as well.
By the way, did Bichaus actually get his ass canned?
if you are in canada right now you can go to the booze store and get some christmas packs of different beer from around the world, they have a nice belgian one, the scottish one is a little awkward.... required taste for most of them ;)
I used to bar-tend in Bristol, and had the luxury of tryin LOADS of drinks for nowt **smug** But I still try to broaden my drinking horizons whenever a decent opportunity arises.
Not tried those Batemans beers, but I shall. Sainsburys sell some awesome Ciders too. Eg. Westons Vintage Reserve - strong (8.4%!), crisp, full bodied and not even slightly too sweet.
Not sure about Bichaus i'm afraid, but the lack of comments on his post of the 3 inbred freaks suggests it was post-humous.
Would be a delicious irony if Deja didn't give a shit either tho =D
10 years ago
Seems only a matter of time before someone picks up on the beer name above, so I might as well get it over with myself:
"Ha, you wanna try Summer Swallows - Fag!"
Yes, well done - ha-de-FUCKing-ha!
i have absolutely no knowledge of beer.. i've only tried dutch, german and some belgian beers. i have yet to try any american beer.
and what kind of cider are you people talking about?
"i've only tried dutch, german and some belgian beers." Vic - German & Belgium beers are regarded as the finest in the world! I can only imagine you live in one of the above countries...?
BTW The cider I mentioned is an Apple-cider from Herefordshire, England - oooooo, arrrrrgh! =D

All this talk of beer, and the pizza in my stomach, has awaken a craving (!) - i'm off to crack open a bottle of Tiger...ciao.
hmm, applecider is good. i don't drink it a lot, cause it's not really a common beverage in bars over here, but i might try it sometimes.
and yes, i'm dutch.
I think it's named after a bird of the feathered variety rather than what bicho does with donkey cum. The best lagers come from Germany and Belgium and the best beers from the UK. If you want to try cider try the Bulmers/Magners and the Aspinal dry suffolk ciders. If you want to get truly blitzed try proper scrumpy, it's like a meal in a bottle.
best cider i've had (dejas favorite as well) is bulmers (aka magners in canada and states, and well.. everywhere else in the world thats not ireland) ;)
ed if you've never had it you should try it, people from england were always at the pub we were at in ireland always getting bulmers because it was their favorite ;)
a good american beer? the only good american beer you'll get is micro brews... and america has some of the best micro brews i've ever had (which makes sense since their domestic beer "scene" is horrible), anything from the east thats a microbrew in america is actually pretty decent (that i've had so far).
if you are wanting to try some beers that are a little 'different' try some from wychwood brewery from the uk http://www.wychwood.co.uk/
they brew quite a few unique beer ;P
honestly one of my favorite beers oddly enough is from where i grew up... http://www.greatwesternbrewing.com/light.html great western light its only 4% alcohol but its a great summer beer.. and i swear to god they used to have a beer called sasky-beer that was like.... completely weird brewing techniques so the alcohol content on the bottle would say 4-8% on it.... but i can't seem to find proof of this anymore :)
victorious have you ever heard of delerium tremens? its a beer from gent (ghent) in belgium... i had it while i was there.... quite an interesting taste.. really strong tasting...
"in bars over here"
I sense that you are being evasive...
Does anyone know where Vic lives?
three comments up^
yak, i've been to Gent once, but i wasn't really old enough to have beer back then ;)
it's been a while since i've been in belgium.
Cheers Yak. FYI Bulmers and Magners are both sold in the UK, but are quite different - Bulmers is a fruity, medium-bodied cider, whereas Magners if sweet and crisp.
And Vic - you won't believe me but i'm 1/2 Dutch!!!
Let me prove it by phonetically spelling some Dutch (badly):
Ghuter Morcher.
Dunkyuval.
Alsterblift.
Ain, Twei, Drie, Fier, Fife...ummm...that's about it i'm afraid...
bulmers = magners. they aren't 2 different ciders. they have the same marketing, commercials, logo, everything except the name is different. it's called bulmers in ireland where it's made by guinness, and magners everywhere else in the world. i'm sure i could find out why, but i never cared enough. when i buy magners here, it tastes the same as bulmers in ireland.
Precisely Deja - I remember thinking, "Hey, they ripped off Magners 100%!"
But why would they waste money promoting Bulmers on TV in the UK after a HUGE campaign for Magners if they were the same...?!
Plus they taste different in the UK - my cider-pallet is pretty good.
BTW Deja - apologies for the personal question, but my curiosity has been awaken by Yak's recent posts (ie. he seems to share my oriental 'fetish') - are you oriental?
Errr...I created a line of white-space by accident...how did I do that?

Anyone?
Merrydown Vintage cider is a superb drink. You can get Dry (silver label). or medium sweet (gold label) both are 7.5% although you don't notice the strength at first.
Gives me a bad headache though. :(
i think she said that she's a hairy hungarian or something..
anyway, ed, i see that your mother or father didn't bother teaching you any dutch, hmm? ;D
10 years ago
but people would know what you mean.
Haha Vic! Well, yes, they didn't bother teaching me Dutch cos it's a WASTE OF TIME ;)
But those spellings were phonetic (ie. so they would read like Dutch to an English person - not bad me thinks, but I couldn't spell them correctly anyway).
mred, perhaps they're trying to just sell it as bulmers in the uk now and phase out the name magners. i think your thinking they taste different is a mental thing, cause, they're the same cider made by the same company. yak doesn't have an oriental fetish, not sure where you got that from, but my heritage is ukrainian/polish/'viking'
All this cider talk is intriguing. Can you get Bulmers/Magners in the US, and if so where?
Right now I'm drinking a Blue Moon Belgian White and it's going down quite nicely!
goedemorgen
dankjewel
alsjeblieft
een, twee, drie, vier, vijf..
REPEAT AFTER ME, BITCH!!*crazy priest*
"who be tellin' me that dutch aint important!?"
Vic - my spelling wasn't miles off. And anyway, I can pronounce them correctly :p

Deja: Eastern European is also incredibly hot **schwing!** I'm sure your accent is damn sexy too :)

Blumers/Magners:
"The move comes as Scottish & Newcastle, maker of Strongbow, announced it is to resurrect its Bulmers Original cider brand across Britain to defend its market leading position in the face of rapid gains by C&C, the maker of Magners. The move is particularly provocative as Bulmers Original is the name of C&C's leading Irish cider brand, though there is no connection between the companies."

Looks like we were both right Deja.
There's a cider company in Hereford called Bulmers, owned by Scottish & Newcastle. Makes Strongbow, Scrumpy Jack and a few other brands.

The makers of Magners, C&C, don't own the rights to the Bulmers name outside of Ireland so they sell it as Magners.

I hope that makes sense.
Oh and Yak is correct. Wychwood brew a great range of bears, they also do a load of brewing for third party companies like Sainsburys and Duchys.
ed, your phonetic spelling was ok, what i wrote up there is how it's really spelled.
Glad we cleared that up Cheeky.
In summary:
- Magners is the same drink all over the world, except it's called Bulmers in Ireland.
- Bulmers, outside of Ireland, is made by S&N, not C&C.

So Scottish & Newcastle DID totally rip-off C&C's advertising campaign...!

For the pedants - Northern Ireland is in the UK, but (the Republic of) Ireland isn't.
oh, and, eastern european is not that hot.. they age horribly. though i have to admit that there are a lot of good-looking young ones, for example, pornstars, and a lot of hookers in the red-light district.
^There's an Estonian lady at my work, who is not at all young (i'm being polite) but still really hot.
Clearly the sex-industry isn't good for preserving one's looks...must be all the STI's rotting them from the inside!
I work with a ukrainian and a croatian. Neither are young, both are hot.
I'm Ukrainian.

And I feel the sudden urge to send Hank a case of American beer and a few packages of this fresh Kielbasa they make in a polish deli a few towns over.
Awww...that's sweet :)
Hey HANK, you've scored!
why is american beer like having sex in a canoe?
it's fucking close to water

now we're even in the bad jokes dept. cheeky
10 years ago
^That's good - not heard it B4 either :)

Lame story: when I was in NYC with some friends, we ended up in a student bar where they were selling Bud for $1 a pint. 'Back-of-the-net', we thought: in the UK, Bud (on draught) is pretty tasty and ABV %5.
However we couldn't get pissed no matter how fast we drank!

Later that evening we ended up in a Scottish bar off Times Square; I had 1 pint of London Pride and could feel the affect straight after.
Girls thanks, I would appreciate the kielbasa (un-used, please), but you can keep the Miller Lite, or whatever it is you drink. I've seen any good micro-brew come in cases.
^I've not seen
Jesus, that joke was worse than mine.
Non-alcoholic beer is like licking your sister's twat, it tastes the same but it just ain't right.
Eww, Miller lite? really... I have some taste.
When it comes to domestic brew, I like Sam Adams Boston Lager, the Octoberfest isn't that bad either. If I'm feeling a 'lite' beer, I'll take a Rolling Rock (no preservatives), I also like Red Stripe - go Jamaica!
Bell's Oberon is pretty good too.
^wow, I don't care to read any of this.

well, why don't you fuck off then?
