My vote is on fake. Sleep through all that including a few minutes in the pond and then come out of your coma able to swim and run - if he is that drunk I dare say he would have some trouble doing any of that crap.
Chance of him drowning were really small, that is a fake pond in an appartment complex, it's probably 5 feet deep at most and he wasn't far from the shore. His sober buddys could save him, or at least thats what they thought.
