Fucking greedy cunts.

I always wondered exactly why red light cameras increased the number of accidents. Here is the answer...

I got a ticket from one of these in Springfield Ohio. It was the first time I was visiting my son since he moved. The wife and I were having our normal bitch fest when neither of us knows where we are and I ran a red light without even knowing it. A week after coming home to PGH. I recieved a ticket in the mail with photos of my truck at the beginning of the red light, threw the red light, and a close up of my license plate with a bumper sticker next to it that read "I Miss Hairy Snatch". It cost me $100 but I'm sure the Springfield police got a kick out of that close up.

Why don't people just disable the cameras?
People are stupid.
I live exactly 1 mile east of that camera the news reporter was standing in front of,it no longer exists because of one individuals distaste for traffic cameras. He welded a 4"x12"x6'block of steel to the front of his pickup and then ran over the camera, told officers his brakes failed,he was finally arrested after trying to convince officers that his brakes failed after hitting his forth camera...
well,... we got plenty of cameras at intersections here in Belgium. If yoiu manage to knock one over then YOU will be paying for the camera you busted. And those things aren't cheap. btw: it does help get traffic violations and accidents down.
There's a website somewhere where people destroy the traffic/spy cameras in the uk and post pics.
i heard you can change the light with a universal remote somehow. myth? maybe..
Some traffic lights have things set up so that emergency vehicles can have the green. I think they all work based on a white strobe light though.
ive seen lights turn quickly when emergency vehicles have there lights on however universal remote idea i dont believe
10 years ago
If you're in the intersection before it turns red it won't take the picture, you have to cross the white line in order for it to take the picture. Trust me I Know

Woman driving advice?

last time i trusted a woman with a camera i woke up the next morning missing a kidney.
If people were smart enough to slow down when they saw the yellow light they wouldn't have that problem
10 years ago
If people were smart enough to drive the speed limit and obey the traffic signs and laws governed for that locality, traffic cameras wouldn't exist...
First of all, speed limits, lower speed limits, and greater speed limit enforcement result in more accidents and death. That's the cold fact. Shorter yellows and red light cameras result in more death. It doesn't matter what they're supposed to do, it matters what they do. It's been studied to death and we know exactly what the fuck they'll do, and yet the cities and shit still sell out lives for profit.
Why are we not supposed to run red lights? Because it makes it likely that there will be an accident and injuries or death. Preventing those accidents is the spirit of the law. Preventing accidents. Think about it.

But instead we go to enforce the letter of the law, and that results in more accidents. All other points on this are mute. They're killing people for profit, and get away with it because ballsuckers who forgot the point of the law want to see other people punished.
Fuck I hate it when sound and video are out of sync.
Yeah, that drives me up the damn wall. I hate that.
I ran one of those lights once, but I was on my motorcycle. The streets were wet, and the dumbfucks decided it would be a good idea to put some stupid design in the road with bricks so if I'd have slammed on my brakes in order to catch the shortened yellow light, I would have been severly fucked. I never got a ticket though, I think it's because they have to see your face in order to ticket you (at least in CA) and with a full-face helmet it's kinda hard to get an accurate picture
10 years ago
That is some serious fucking BULLSHIT! Making profit by making the yellow light shorter. BULLSHIT!!!
Fuck that in Cali EVERYONE goes on yellow. If people try to turn left they sit in the intersection and wait until the red so they actually can go.
You may think your hard done by but here in the UK our government has perfected the art of fucking over its citizens via camera.
Not only do we have red light and speed cameras that generate millions of pounds of “tax” but to add insult to injury we run a points system. Every driver starts with twelve points. For running a red we loose 6 points for minor speeding (say 40 in a 30) we loose 3 and for more serious “crimes” we can loose anything up to all 12 in one go. The point is that if you run two reds on the same day you will loose your licence. You get points you lost back three years after you lost them. We have instances of people caught on four speed cameras along the same road in the space of 20 mins who lost there licence for a year!. Also any more than six points lost totally fucks your insurance premiums.

Ok so far some of you may be thinking that this doesn’t sound so bad and that good & considerate drivers keep there licence and have cheaper insurance and others loose there licence or have to pay considerably more for insurance. However this system only works on law abiding citizens who register the vehicle to themselves at a real address. 20% of the cars on the road in London are driven by people who don’t even have a licence or insurance and who have not registered the vehicle. Hence this is basically just a tax on law abiding citizens, its shit and you guys should look over the channel and as with gun control and other liberties that we are loosing/have lost take note and don’t let this happen to you!

Sorry for the long post but I’m totally fucked off with the whole situation. Anyhow let the dick heads start the flaming........

We need another revolution.

Insurance companies in america are nice enough to buy those 10k laser speed trap setups for the cops. They raise rates when people get tickets, which is ironic since it's been demonstrated that those drivers who normally exceed the limit by 10-15 mph are the safest drivers on the road.

Hey Wanko, I found this quote today.

"A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only
exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from
the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the
candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the
result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always
followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest
civilizations has been 200 years. These nations have progressed through this
sequence: "From bondage to spiritual faith; From spiritual faith to great
courage; From courage to liberty; From liberty to abundance; From abundance
to selfishness; From selfishness to apathy; From apathy to dependence; From
dependence back into bondage."

~Alexander Fraser Tytler (later Lord Alexander Fraser Woodhouslee), in "The
Decline and Fall of the Athenian Republic," published 1776.

What stage do you think we are in now? Apathy to dependence? The end is near (relatively).

@RobRob, The biggest problem with penalty points is pure stupidity. In your local area, you know where all the speed and traffic light cameras are and you know to be careful. Every week, the local papers publish locations of sites where mobile cameras will be used, so you know to be careful. On motorways and main routes you can see most cameras in advance, they are dayglow yellow after all, so you know to be careful. Part from driving through strange towns and cities, how can you be caught out with cameras? Stupidity earns points.
Dependance back to bondage. People are scared and rely on the government for every little damn thing. And the vote no longer matters. Even if it did, the new voting machines could fix that, as well as more public education about how flawed the whole field of statistics is and why exit polls no longer prove anything is rigged.

And it's true. A democracy will be taken advantage of, when everyone is allowed to vote. Most people are not smart enough to vote. Most people haven't accomplished anything with their lives or contributed anything that should entitle them to vote. I don't give a fuck if they're born here, all they do is suck and try to vote themselves another straw.

Give only landowners the vote, they're the only ones who actually own a part of the country.
If you have to pay property taxes, can you really say you own it? Aren't you just renting it from the government?
Mr Fugsmacker, thanks for stating the bleeding Obvious. I personally don’t have any points as I’m well aware of where the local cameras are and my SatNav tells me about non local ones when I’m around the country. The main point of my rant wasn’t the injustice of getting caught on camera but the way in that camera’s and points are sold to us as making us all safer but infact its just turned into a tax on the law abiding. , the points and “tax” collected by the cameras only affect 80% of the population of London (those that register the vehicle/have insurance and licence). It’s the same story over and over again. Our “nanny state” leaders ban things and make up new ways to enforce existing rules/laws but only apply them to Mr middle England (i.e. me). It’s the same story with our gun control restrictions. They only restrict the law abiding from owning a gun and not criminals/those who don’t give a shit about the law as evidenced by the spate of shootings we read about every morning.
I imagine the property tax system would be reformed quickly if only landowners were voting.
Yeah but America works because it's a false democracy. We aren't really free, but as long as they make us think we are, we're cool with it.
No just have a little fun with the system. Steal a set of plates from a municipal vehicle and keep on going through red lights all day. Just remember to ditch the plates when you are done.
I couldn't be bothered watching the video, but over here they had to recall a shitload of speed cameras because someone took them to court over a fine and they worked out that the cameras had been malfunctioning.
Theres a type of adhesive film available you can stick over your license plate, its undetectable to the eye ( unless your right ontop of it looking for it ) but what it does is reflect the flash from the camera and fucks up the picture , do a google search for "PhantomPlate"
Then do another search for the rest of this phrase: "There's one born...". It makes the manufacturer some decent money and makes the cops laugh. You still get your ticket.

Its Arizona, Who gives a Fuck about Arizona. the only offenders they get anyway are Tumbleweeds.
This is old as hell... I live here in AZ and have for a while. "The deadliest intersections in the U.S."- sure. Those camera's wouldn't be there if people didn't drive like careless fucktards. Of course they are going to need serviced- who the fuck do you think does that. How long have those cameras been there and now it comes into the spotlight- fucking ignorant assholes got them put there in the first place. Funniest thing about it is the fact that most of the fault is not on the guy running the 'yellow' light, it's the guy assuming the red light for the other direction is going to turn green on his schedule.

Very few people pay attention to the traffic sign on the side of the road anyway. All intersections with cameras have warnings posted well before the intersection. If people would pay attention and take into consideration that they are not just driving a car but potentially wielding a weapon, we wouldn't have this problem.

Oh wait- then we wouldn't have so many cool accident videos to watch...
