Somebody get this guy hired as the White House speech writer!

"i don't think our opinions matter much right now"

says it all
Did anyone else catch the fact that he said "If history has shown us anything, it repeats itself" twice?

Also, I like ham sandwiches.
Yeah..... it's part of his skit. He says it twice on purpose. Listen to what he's saying.
Okay... so if history is everything that has ever happened to humans that was written down, it includes just about every human scenario. So saying history repeats itself is no more meaningful than saying "shit happens," because you can always look back and find SOMETHING that matches up with your rhetoric.

^^^ He also said we have to live in reality.
sounds like he's for bush, in which case, he can go fuck himself. BUSH = SATAN = BUSH
11 years ago
Bush is the fallen angel Damean Lucifer? Don't you think he would have tried to attack Gods army of angels and take our souls by now? Just a thought.
No it doesn't sound like he's for Bush. It sounds like he's taking a pragmatic look at war and policy. This is ballsy material for Dennis Miller to say but he's unflinching in offering his commentary so I have to give him props.
I always thought he was a despicable whiny fuck… Pragmatic, realistic…he is not. He’s an Ann Coulter and he’s smart enough to know it… “We got’ a live in the real world or we’re going to have another 911” Well if you listen to half the stuff he spews history will repeat itself…cause nothing he says is part of any kind of solution…what history says, you start thinking like him and bad things start to happen…he’s all about a race to the bottom.

Ever hear David Cross's bit no Miller..
Yeah, David Cross offers great advice on the whole situation. You said, "Well if you listen to half the stuff he spews history will repeat itself…cause nothing he says is part of any kind of solution" Really? You think so? Do you mean to say that if we just ignore the whole damn thing about radical Islam the problem will just go away? Well shit! Cake for president!

i remember when dennis miller was against bush? maybe i'm crazy.......... but i could have sworn :P
or is he just bitter john stewart got a tv show out of making fun of politics ;/
11 years ago
Yeah, actually he was kind of against Bush before 9/11 changed his world view. John's show did better than Dennis's by far! To contrast, however, of course news that's bad has always does better than news that's good. :P

Dennis, my fellow Americans, there were much better ways to deal with Iraq than the path we choose. Bush, in is naiveté, only wanted to do it HIS way and refused to listen to the experts, Generals, diplomats, historians, and me. That being said, after we took control of Bagdad he (and Rummy) still had a chance to suceed but managed to fuck it up in every conceivable way. First was the galatically stupid choice to dismiss all Iraqi military personnel. Followed by the choice not to seperate Iraq into 3 seperate entities. I could go on and on.

Nice tyler! I guess after a football game you are suddenly an expert and give everyone your grand sage advice on how you would have done the game differently. Hey! I know! Why dont you shut the fuck up! K-bye

You off the hook frankenstein, what glass dick you smokin out of!!

Oh, and BTW, I did predict that this was going to happen. Its not such a stretch. One need only to read George Bush Sr.'s autobiography.

K-Bill if you’re saying it’s not a “war on terror” but a “war on radical Islam", I’ll appoint you my VP. If you are going to defeat radical Islam you won’t do it with a club…unless you turn into a brutal Stalin…or maybe Saddam Hussein…difficult to do in a representative democracy. Point is once you’re done you’re left with hell on earth. There’s still a lot of people in Iran and Iraq that love the idea of the America…not Bush…but the myth. K-Bill you got to get past kill or run…you’re thinking like a scared monkey. Nothing more dangerous than a scared monkey…. Just look at Dennis Miller.
not that i'm splitting hairs or anything, but i think it's safe to say there are *LOTS* of things more dangerous than a scared monkey. mebbe a scared monkey with an STD carrying a gun and surfing into town on the back of a rabid shark. *that's* dangerous...

man, you don't know your monkeys...
I dont think Dennis Miller is a scared monkey at all. If there was one, it would be all the sand monkey terrorist fucks that shit themselves to sleep at night. Oh, and you.
^^^ that was at cake
You know Cake, it's also interesting that when you look at Dennis Miller all you see is a scared monkey. It makes me wonder what you think about when you see a suicide bomber? Do you think the same thing? Or do you think of him as a hero instead? Makes me wonder your train of thinking.

Well, the way I see it, too many people like to label all Iraqis as terrorists because of the radical muslims in the middle east (not just Iraq, people). As someone who has recently been there fighting, I see this prejudice develope amongst the troops just as much as it does back here at home. But that doesn't make it right. If you honestly wanna hate muslims because of what a radical sect(s) has done, then you must also hold all religions and ethnic groups to their past discresions (sp?)as if they happened today. Not all germans kill jews, not all jews killed Christ, not all african americans eat watermelon, and not all muslims kill innocent people, and to believe otherwise show how ignorant and narrow minded they truely are and personify every reason that Americans get a bad wrap around the world (and they do, just travel a bit and you will see).
ahem... and not all christians engage in the genocide of anyone who disagres with them...
Right, but there are extremists in just about every religion that end up giving the rest of the believers a bad name, which is what is happening w/ the muslims in the M.E.

i miss kraft dinner. having my sister bring me a few boxes when she visits :)

Red, Americans get a bad wrap around the world because everyone loves to tear down something thats great. Everyone hates america sooo much they are tearing down the walls to get in. LOL! Sure we are bad mouthed, but who cares what other people think about our country? I dont. And I'm glad Bush dosnt either. If we tried to appease every country out there that thumbs their noses at us well we would be truly on a course of going downhill. OR under control of the Democrat party.
has it ever occurred to you that americans get a bad rep around the world because people don't like people who are rude, obnoxious, full of themselves and completely overbearing? the attitude in your last comment shows exactly WHY a lot of people in other countries don't like "americans" because you claim to just not give a fuck, and you act like people should give a fuck about you because of 'how great' everything in america is, thing is, most educated americans i know and the people i know in different countries who actually have a decent perspective on how shitty america has become in the last 10 years understands there is a reason people dislike "americans", and it has nothing to do with jealousy or tearing down something thats 'great'.
do yourself a favor and go visit a few countries for more then a few days at a time and try to get along as a local, not a fucking tourist, talk to some people, and ask them.... i'll bet you a thousand dollars that not one of them will mention being jealous, but they will most likely joke to you about the americans they dislike being people who think that everyone is jealous of them :P
news flash - noone is jealous of the shithole america is becoming, when we have to go back to canada, i'm not looking forward to being close to the united states again, except for our friends that are there.
as far as 'would be truly on a course going downhill' open your fucking eyes and look at your country for a few seconds you've been on that slippery slope of a shitslide for years, and now you are so far down it you think that the situation you are in is 'great'... unfortunately the rest of the world and a LOT of united states citizens can see how shitty a slide down its become and its not letting up :P

Look yak. I respect your opinion on the matter more that any one else on this site. But to be quite fair, my comments were directed at the naysayers present in this county. If you were here, you would be hearing this talk all the time from certain groups of people I don't agree with. And quite frankly I am tired of it, and also, it really doesn't matter. I can also say, has it ever occurred to you the same people who think we are "rude, obnoxious, full of themselves and completely overbearing" are the same people DEMANDING we save the rest of the world from their problems because we are one of the few superpowers who can at least try and help? Because even though people from around the world think the worst of us now over the past ten years, they are the same ones giving us shit when we don't help out. It's complete double speak. I.E. The tsunami, "America HELP US!" About the countries in Africa, "America has a duty to help us!" just to name a few examples. The only reason America is becoming a "shit hole" is because we are being held hostage to the political correctness police, and a myriad of other reasons I could, but am not going to go into here. Look, I have visited a few countries in my time, and having actually lived in England for a while before 9/11. I frequented a lot of the pubs over there and became friends with several of the patrons. I can say they had favorable views of America then. I don't know how their views are now, but seriously? Should I care? I mean, we got stung pretty bad from sects of radical Islam, and now we have responded and the shit has hit the fan. People in other countries don't like that? Too bad. I don't feel like we should capitulate to a pre 9/11 image of a country so other countries feel good about us again. Newsflash? Look, I for one don't think people from other countries are jealous of America. Why would I? And any of my friends here or in Iraq would agree with me. I know Democrats are worried. Some for good reasons, but mostly partisan political ones. All I can do is look at everyone flooding into this country legally, or illegally to tell me otherwise. Just look at the facts. If we are so hated, then why are people busting down the doors to get here? If we are so pompous, why even come to a country like that? There are so many levels, so many aspects to this argument if America tried to appease everyone we would cease being American. Let me ask, have you ever changed your character so other people might like you? I would venture to say no, you haven't. Why would you expect the same thing of America? And if we or I say "who cares?" Why is that rude, obnoxious, and overbearing? We are in a war! Of course people are not going to like us! That should be the real newsflash! If I lived in fear of what other people thought of me, I guess my life would just suck now wouldn't it? But fuck, I am sure going to protect myself from others who would do me harm. And if that's pompous, then so be it.
Ahem, I've been everywhere and can honeslty say that as far as rude and obnoxious go, we are not at the top of the list. So why are we talked about so? From what I've seen, jealousy.
Also, I(and I know this quote dosnt sit well with people) "Not all Muslims are terrorist, but all Terrorists are Muslim" So red, go join the army, get sent to Iraq and fight some more, because you really dont sound like any soldier I know. HAHA! Just kidding. I bet you are one. But seriously.
the quote "not all muslims are terrorist, but all terrorists are muslim" would sit much better with me if it had anything to do with reality. unfortunately it doesn't.
It's kind of like a slice of pie from reality. Of course not all terrorists have been Muslim. There was Tim McVeigh and a few others that were clearly American, but this quote has some validity on our current situation for the past 30 years when it comes to terrorists from other countries.
you've obviously never heard of any news coming from any other countries, look up canadian terrorism, or perhaps ireland....
Not talking about them. Talking about america. But I still get your point. Look, gotta go to work now.

Yeah K, apparently you missed the part of my post that said "As someone who has recently been there fighting, I see this prejudice develope amongst the troops just as much as it does back here at home." As a combat medic, I've had enough American and civilian blood on me to have the perspective I have. I don't know if you have served or not, and I'm not callin you or your buddies out on it. But I think I like Lewis Black's observation of the US as some guy that goes to work everyday and tells all his coworkers "I'm the greatest fucker here, and you snivviling shits would die w/o me!", for which he noted that you would have killed such a guy if you worked w/ him. Just saying, America is a great nation, but our shit most certainly DOES stink, no matter how much people think to the contrary.
All I gotta say is that if you say you are in "support of the war" or in "support of the troops", find a recruiter, enlist, head to the sandbox and show some real support, because I'm just not feelin the yellow ribbons. :P
11 years ago
This is weird, comming from a "combat medic." None of my friends feel the need to try and get me joined up or anything. I do support the war, and support the troops. But this isn't enough? Now I have to join and shit? Hey bud, you need to take a step back and look at the people who DO have the yellow ribbons, and the ones who dont.
The point I was attempting to make is that people, not necessarily you, talk alot about supporting causes w/o actually SUPPORTING them. What I mean by that is how does a ribbon, for any cause, show support? This is just my opinion, but seeing a yellow ribbon doesn't do much for me, and just about evey soldier I know feels the same way. Of course we don't go out of our way to confront them and say "what have you REALLY done to 'support' us?", because that would be crass and counterproductive, but it's just so easy to "say" you support something, but it takes something real to show that they do. Volunteers, Red Cross, Veterans Affairs...these are people that I see as supporters. Reservists and National Guard employers who help the families of those deployed, they are supporters. Political figures who stall and point fingers and claim each side is being partisan while we pass the 3000 dead troops point...waste of space meatsacks breathing good air that could go to REAL Americans.
Who cares about a ribbon? Really? I said that because apparently to you that was an important thing. If not? Then why mention it? I support our troops by not demeaning them. I support our troops by not degrading what they do. What else can I do? I am not going to join. That is not my life path. I have a great job, doing what I can to support my future goals. I support my troops by not calling them baby killers and demoralizing them. For me, that's pretty fucking cool. I am sorry that every person in the USofA can't join up. You have to deal with that reality. You. What you can do about it is realize there are people out there that believe in the cause, and what you are doing. That's about as much as I an anyone else (on your side) can do for you. I am on your fucking side dude! Realize that! So dont even suggest I have to join the service before I can support them. That is retarded and counterproductive. But I know what you are saying. You want more people to be "active" in some sort of service that supports the troops. Right? What I want you to realize is that there are people who do support, and those who claim they support. I hope someday you see the people that do and realize their effort to keep your namesake clean. Cause there are plenty here trying to dirty it as much as possible. Peace to you man.
Yeah Red, apparently you missed the part of my post where I said, " HAHA! Just kidding. I bet you are one.[soldier]" So easy their cheif. And that Lewis Black comment is funny. And about americas shit stinking. Dude, EVERY country's shit stinks. :p
