Most important picture ever

Great video. Science can be so cool sometimes. I have no idea why in the hell they show a fat kid dancing for few seconds that doesnt even relate to the video.

"Five Hundred Thousand Million"?! (<-- 500 billion, i assume)

...watching this is depressing, it looks like there is no way in hell we'll ever be able to travel to another galaxy let alone go beyond our own little sect in the milky way :(
...man, I wanted to meet Alf, too.

The day is closer than you think.

I thought that was Carl Sagan narrating for a bit there, until he mentioned uTube. I know he's been dead for awhile, so I doubt he was around to see uTube.

just so u know i am still waitin for a face to jump out and scary the shit outta me.

i agree with you booddles it is depressing makes you realize how insignificant you really are...well tomorrows a new day lets all get shit faced and jerk off
11 years ago
The facts of the story are interesting, the narration was shithouse though. Since when did the curious among us need to be patronised whilst trying to learn something new?

Besides what would really put it in perspective is our galaxy being photographed from 78 billion light years away. And I don't know about you but I'm sick of being the universe's damn photographer, always behind the camera and never in front. Yo Alpha Centuri, it's your turn.

LOL i was too sin...

It's a damn shame that human beings have to be so selfesh. We could be putting all of our resources together and explore space insted of building weapons just to blow the shit out of each other. Over what? mostly because people think that thier invisible man is better than than yours. Peoples greed and opinions on who is better than who is keeping us from boldy going where no man has gone before. There are other planets we could go to and everyone could have anything they want. It will never happen because of peoples greed. People are just living for today and not thinking of the future. I wish people would just grow the fuck up and realize that we are all the same and we should think of the future of humans as a whole and not just thier country or religion....Ive said enough. I could write a whole book on how I feel about this but it wont make a damn bit of differance....this video is proof that there are a lot of things out there we don't know about. If our species would just grow up we could do a lot more...

yeah man i want us to explore space so bad. theres so much to be found out. so many more theorys and discoveries. or you can take the simple road and just say "god made it all" . but who made god? how does god just 'appear'? how did anything just appear? why are we here? how are we here? its just too crazy. the puzzle will never be put together. what happened when we die? ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh my brainn
11 years ago
It was all so confusing to me, I didn't understand it, and my brain was about to explode until I heard and saw "Numa Numa".

I get it now.

We're all fucked.

It ties my senior picture.

man the universe never ends, it doesnt have an end, galaxies go on and on. so much information. imagine if u knew everything about it damn so much.
If the galaxies in the image are 78 billion light years away, then that means that the the light from each of the seemingly infinite stars took 78 billion years to get to the Hubble telescope. Technically, the photo is of that patch of our sky 78 billion years ago, and any one of those galaxies could be either changed or gone. So we still don't know what IS out there, but only what it used to look like 74 billion years before our solar system even existed.

This movie would have rocked on a trip...the pictures with that music...except the numa guy of course, that would have ruined everything
11 years ago
the first song in this movie is Pink Floyd - Shine on you crazy diamond. From the "wish you where here album". Such a great song.

@ I know...one of the better known songs i guess...PF has some weirder tunes that I wouldn't listen to while psychonauting...but that was a perfect fit

not really that hard of a concept to wrap your head around...

When I was really young and saw starwars for the first time I always figured they were talking about traversing the whole universe when they reffered to things like hyperspace and lightspeed.

Of course as I got older and learned about the concept of a galaxy and how far light travels in a second (about 186 000 miles an hour) and that it took somthing like 5 hours and 20 minutes just for the light from our sun to reach pluto. From that point on I'd always assumed that I was a spec of nothing in a galaxy full of millions of other planets and stars that made up a bigger spec of nothing cast in among a billion trillion other galaxies in the universe.

When you think of it in that perspective, how couldn't you be accepting of the likely hood that some where out there another intellegent cilvilzations exists, if not many.
On that note, has anyone else here even pondered the fact that we might not be considered "intellegent" to some other advanced form of life? (Aside from being sentinent I mean)

We havent a clue whats out there or whats went on here , like for fucks sake 2000 year old greek computer like machine has been discoverd, check it out its really really fucking amazing .

I mean fucking mind boggling.

All of this has always brought up questions of God, and the almighty. Seeing this makes the concept of a "big bang" seem rather absurd as well.

I feel really small at this point...mah well. I'm going to go play some video games, FUCK YOU LOSERS!!

HAHAHA

Im gonna stay ignorant and keep thinking im importent cos thats waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too long

Just think about all the different types of beings that are looking up or out or whatever their worlds are like, and thinking the exact same thing as us.

Maybe they are going true the same shit , wars over religion and the rest

Then again they may know everything about us and think we are so uncivilized and prehistoric that they want nothing to do with us or this piece of shit we call Earth.

Come on everyone knows the Big Bang was the result of a time traveller jettisoning his unstable fuel while still in the time vortex.

Hey fuz I saw a special on the discovery channel. A whole hour on that shit and it is mind boggling no doubt. Since most of u piece of shits dont read more then 3 lines dont go to what Fuz has posted above. It involves a good amount of reading

I was too lazy to look for the published report but its been in all the worlds media, the pictures and details of what it ust to look like are so phenomenal, this machine was made in around 70bc and nothing like it had been made like for at least a thousand years later.

Someone might post a few pics of them(i might) but then again who comes here to be enlightened lol
11 years ago
An i dont mean the Wiki version of what it might have looked like, the new results released to the world days ago.
clearly baffling no doubt. they ran alsorts of test on it(parts) trying to find out if it was a Hoax type a thing or a doctored type of old shit. They came away more intrigued with it finding nothing Hoaxey(if thats a word) about it. Its truely a mystery.
Big time man, though i think i read or saw something about artifacts decaying around older earth or rock an it contaminating the piece as too the extent they couldn't tell how old it was but that was only by a couple of hundred years or so.

Hope it isnt fake or the data's wrong, it would be very very intresting to know how the were capable of building something like that 2000 years ago.

Im not going to start entertaining the idea of extraterrestrial help (i'll leave that to Ryoga ) but who knows, the day people stop having an open mind to new ideas, we're going backwards an rightly fucked.
