I don't believe in god so Goddess bless, and I like bush, and hopefully will fight in Iraq, and being a superpower is amazing we have held the rank for almost 20 years we woulda lost it by now.
20 years aint shit. Rome held it for almost a 1000.
and what happened to Rome?.....
They went into the empire hall of fame.
wasn't rome constantly fighting the persians or am I thinkiing of the greeks?

who cares it's bush, where is tiredguy when you need him?
^^^ He's sleeping as usual. Anyway, I really like this painting. I mean, you have bush, and the christian symbol. You have all the people underneath that are dead. The symbolism is clear. War sucks. And bush, deciding to go into war has his army's on the move. People die. Yes they do, but is it really his fault? Or is he finally doing something about the problem?............But yet. If you replace bush with any other us president, you would still get the same picture. Be it WW2 (Truman), or the civil war. (Lincolon) Or vietnam (Johnson). War is hell. Actually. If you replace bush with any other WORLD LEADER, you would get the same imagery. So I ask you this...... So what? It's all about "Life, death, and what you believe in." What do you believe in? Are you going to stand by and let others kill you? or are you GOING TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!??? That's bush's greatest sin. He did something about it. I'm just happy that it's not a picture of Osama his army's and all the dead that got crushed in 9/11. Thanks for that at least!
ps, and it's not like you would actually see a picture of Osama. I mean, when it comes to islamic terriorists and the liberals, they are not the ones truly at fault..... RIGHT? LOL! Ahh... I hate it that I am so right.
The problem isn't whether to do anything about it but what and how. The flipside is that the method chosen has the potential to come back and bite you even harder on the arse.
that's a point, has Tiredguy got tired of us?
..or perhaps he's been conscripted..
OK. Thats fair Chairman. So if you dont mind me asking, what would you do then?
That's a rather difficult question to answer concisely seeing as there a number of points in history where things might have been done differently and the implications being difficult to judge given that it's an educated guess and I am only thinking of the limitations on a course of action while I'm typing. You really have to focus on the short run versus the long run. For instance, ideally in my opinion, actively trying to bring regimes down or prop them up behind the scenes decades earlier was always going to spell trouble later on. But throw Israel into the equation and estimating the strength of the pro-Israeli lobbying domestically (which I'm not saying I would oppose outright) might make a more hands off approach decades ago political suicide. Also considering the fact that back then, the US required much more oil to make $1 of profit than it does now and keeping good relations meant good oil prices. Fast forward to more recent times and we had a few (not all and certainly not the most well-renowned) neo-cons sell the idea that liberation was going to be a clear-cut outcome of direct intervention (military engagement) in the Middle East, forgetting that throughout history the place has been volatile and at the best of times they are still taking potshots at each other let alone what is perceived as a foreign invader. Too much diplomatic mileage was used up trying to get the rest of the world to go along with it when the rest of the world didn't need the same sort of convincing on the more posturing type of states such as Iran or North Korea. Something like Iraq was always going to be too big without almost complete multilateral support from the international community, Afghanistan is tricky enough with the whole of NATO and the EU pitching in. Now in Iraq we have a situation where before the population had guns pointed at them and someone telling them "I am your ruler, do as I say or I will kill you" and now suddenly the population have a different group of people pointing guns at them saying "you're the rulers now, rule however you want but if you don't rule how we want you to we'll shoot". Sure it's less oppressive but it's a lot more turbulent too. Seeing as what's done is done, the only course of action is to salvage what one can. Sure, stick around, fix the infrastructure, train the security forces and protect the civillians in the mean time but try to not to undermine the workings or at least the image of the makings of a government chosen by the people. Having Bush turn up in Iraq unannounced and then forcing the new prime minister of Iraq to attend a joint press-conference destroys all the prime minister's deliberate work in distancing himself from the US so as not to look to Iraqis and the rest of the Middle East like a puppet put in charge by the US. It's like shooting two people in the foot with one bullet. He loses credibility and therefore the power to govern, the US attracts more resentment.

K-Billy this is what a little intelligence looks like ^^

Chairman all you’ve done there is criticise what has been done using retrospection…congratulations, if only you were in charge (with you time machine with built in Chrystal ball)
Woo, lengthy posts in the image section again.
^^ Yes a rather convenient criticism isn't it? Funny I went out of my way to deliberately frame my responses to different points in <history> and then even gave a suggestion as to what could be done now seeing as I did acknowledge that the past was the past. If someone asks "what would you do?" of course there's going to be 20/20 hindsight. But hey who am I to deny your right not to make small leaps of logic, or read carefully the context those comments were made in in your attempt to pin something on what I said?
And instead of taking a piggyback on the words of others enbeezy, you'd look less of a fool if you didn't blindly follow another. It's not a demonstration of intelligence, it's called an opinion. Gladly form your own if you wish to duke it out instead of the humbler aim of giving a point of view.
^^is this an opinion? or shit talk?
i dont see how i am piggybacking off of yours when I already laid down my POV. The 5th one at the top. Plus Im gonna attack anything K-Billy says, so...
what is your response now....your turn

This conversation bores me. Fucking shitcock. Peckerballs cuntflap. There, I feel better.
Yeah Enbeezy because your comment five down from the top is such a great one that it blows all other comments away. Your intelligence is mind boggling, "jesus aint my homeboy and fuck anybody who thinks i am wrong.... love the A-10 warthog tho, cool airplane." LOL. Now @Chairman. Let me just say that was quite a lengthy paragraph. I guess I should have asked you. "what would you have done after 9/11?" Then your answer would seem a little less evasive. Ok look. I think The Carter administration fucked things up by arming various groups to help fight in their various wars. I think it's retarded that the US keeps arming people who after they defeat their enemy's then turn their guns back on the US. It's utter bullshit in my opinion. This is what I think we should do in a post 9/11 world. Defend ourselves against terrorists and the countries that harbor them. Sure the world might not like that at all, sure the world might get mad at us, but shit who cares? Like I have stated before in other posts, if the USA bowed down to international opinion and only lived to impress others then we would cease to be a country. It took five years after 1945 to get Germany stable. Lord knows it's going to be a long time for Iraq. So boo hoo on the guy who is in charge of the government over there if bush just shows up. This shit takes time man! But the country IS making progress. Of course they might be on the verge of a civil war, and your comment about Middle east being a volatile place might make that a reality, but we will see. Look, I am no military genius but I do know this war is different than any other war we have ever fought. We have people who are taught to hate everything in the west and then to kill them because they are "infidels" Looking at the long run of it should we just ignore this problem? Look what that got us with Clinton! 9/11. When I say that Bush has "chosen" that means he has looked at the options on the table, and has decided to nip this problem in the butt now, instead of 10 years from now when our cities are rubble from suitcase bombs. Sure people are going to sit back and say that we are warmongers and that we should care what other people think about the situation, and that you can never defeat an idea. But you know what? We can try. Sure we are not perfect, but we have people out there with fucking bottles filled with explosives. I mean this shit is very real. So, I guess I should have asked: what would you do then about terrorism and terrorist threats in this post 9/11 world we live in chairman? Ignore it? Police the problem? Or try to kill them? What?

K-Billy you are such a tool. I would say more, but in the wise words of coupland "Fucking shitcock. Peckerballs cuntflap. There, I feel better.

Its all fucked up the damage is done, a serious confontation has been set in motion and its all going to kick off big time. 1 billion muslims in the world and they arent happy and a serious amount of them want retribution. There is nothing that the west can do to avert it. Bush has put Jihad in the mind of millions and its spreading like a plague. I truly believe a World War is on the cards.
I dont know about that. But jihad has been on the mind of muslims since the crusades. and enbeezy. if you have nothing nice to say... ahhh. just fuck off ya kike.

K-Billy : "But jihad has been on the mind of muslims since the crusades"

Their is 1 billion of them and million of muslims are being radicalized , they are teaching their children in scholl to fight and die for Allah and they will, its going to kick off man. What dont you know about , its happening.

I would have investigated my own government first. I didnt really like going to school but I did have a favorite class, history. And in the late 30's there was this guy, I think his name was hitler, I'm not really sure tho. I think he burned down the Richstag building and conviently blamed it on the Polish and communists. Well almost a decade later he was put out of power, and it was revealed that is was his own politcal party members who burned the building. That event allowed Hitler to convince Germans that they must root out terrorism abroad. And they invaded Poland and almost all of Europe. Fast forward about 70 years and we have a country following the same blueprint, but this time they have done a much better job convincing the world that they must root out terrorism. I just find a little too much of a coincidence. Only time will tell. Google "War is a racket"
I wasn't trying to avoid being evasive by trying to frame the timelines myself. I agree completely that these sort of policy decisions are lineball when you don't know the consequences but I think if it was studied properly, the alternative could have been much more prudent with respect to any potential backlash being smaller. After September 11? Sure fight the terrorists, start at home with a proper intelligence mechanism. I mean only going from 1.5% to 2% screening of all shipping containers entering the US doesn't seem like much of an improvement regardless of the scale involved. There wasn't much of a backlash to the invasion of Afghanistan, most countries saw it as an active exporter of terrorism. They even swallowed the "we won't abandon the Aghanis" a second time around in a few decades. The advantage in WW2 was that the majority of the German and Japanese population for the most part accepted prolonged occupation, they weren't so dissimilar to the allies and had a culture of respecting centralised authority. Instead a handful of neo-cons managed to convince a lot of people that war would resemble a game of Risk, roll the right number of dice and take the space and simply assuming that the local population and surrounding countries were just static places on a board. For that reason you're right in saying it's a war different from any other before. I'm quite serious in my opinion that the little things like making the prime minister rush to a joint press-conference with Bush is indeed bad for the US, it makes the job on the ground much more difficult in convincing people the continued occupation is simply for stablisation. I'm saying this out of concern as much for the US as for Iraq. The conundrum is disengagement, past US policy has tied the fate of it's relations with Middle East and muslims to extreme resentment which is fuel for those able to exploit for their own visions and undoing it may (unfortunately and probably unjustly) not be enough to save the US and other places from further bloodshed. I fear nipping it in the bud "Bush-style" doesn't work on hydras such as terrorism too well. Afghanistan was a good platform from which small scale counter-terrorism got a number victories in other hotbeds. The serious shit didn't start up again until after the Iraq invasion.
To summarise what I would do: Get homeland security and intelligence to cooperate properly at home. The international intelligence community tends to work well with the US and each other because exclusion makes everyone weaker. The hard work of sifting everything through needs to be done. Post Afghanistan there was a succesful international offensive against terror cells, Iraq unfortunately made that job harder again but it needs to be stuck to. Leaving the rest of the Middle East alone at least for quite a while (and that was an opinion held before Iraq. Too late but the question was about post September 11), it's too big and complicated to simply control. There's a lot of literature on why democracy is difficult to bring about in the Middle East, not because of the big bad man or men on top but also lots of nasty middle men with guns.

You know, when I wake up in the morning, pour myself that smug cup of coffee, I like to sit on the porch and smile. You know-like the commercials. Smile at the fact that us Americans(notice the word "can" at the end) are basically Rome the sequel. Rome had it's cock out for a thousand years, raping and pillaging, man I'm telling ya-they fucked everything in site. But they went limp after a 1000 years. Big Deal. You'd go limp too without the internet. So this time our cocks are bigger, hooked into electrodes, and this time were gonna fuck the world. 1000 years? Nikka please. 2000? Not even close. Were making sure we don't fuck ourselves into a corner this time. So get your raincoats out and open wide for a global facial. America is cumming...

You know, one day there is going to be a need for one government. Ever read the enders series by Orson Scott Card? ^^^ BTW. Thanks Chairman, I thinks thats pretty solid stuff. I will have to write more later because we are about to leave for six flags. And @Clover. Look buddy, I dont have to join the marines to have an opinion about anything. This isnt starship troopers. But perhaps life would be better if you have to serve in the military before you could vote.
Oh I am starting to see K-Billy. You are a facist. I am totally against one world government. You are so un-American its sad. I thought for the most part you were lost, but I see you are for everything the constitution is against, like for one TRUE DEMOCRACY. If there ever is a time where there is a threat of a one world order, you better believe I will do everything in my power to make sure it fails. First I will protest peacfully, when I see the powers that be ignore me, then I will let bullets fly. I swear by that.
Firstly ^ best read ever! Secondly Chairman I understand you are one of the few people on here USUALLY with intelligent comments backed by generally valid points (even though I don’t necessarily agree) but try and keep it shorter otherwise it just goes over their heads if they read it at all. (yes I understand you had a lot to say but still…) Finally @ Leer you stupid piece of subhuman excrement do you even think before you type?? I cant be bothered explaining to you why you’re such an idiot but lets just say your right and America does rule the world for the rest of time it will have FUCK ALL to do with you because you cant even contribute a rational comment never mind contribute one iota to the continuation of a superpower…if anything you’re a drain on the economy by collecting your food stamps in order to sustain your pathetic life.
Let's say I'm right? I am right you blind cunt. We are number one. We DO rule the world. Now crawl out from that rock your under, get on your scabby knees, and lick the dogshit from my facist bootheels. Please be bothered. Please explain. We all need a good laugh at the sweaty fat kid with a passion for armchair politics.

wow, enbeezy, you automatically assume i am talking about America as the one world leader. and you call ME unamerican. Look, idiot. When we finally do venture out to the stars -and that's probably going to be at least another 400-1000 years from now- sooner or later, the world is going to need to be united for this massive effort. Lots of sci-fi writers think the same way, but pretty much all agree that the world will have come to some understanding of peace and probably be under one government for space expansion to work. Of course, by enbeezys own words, "you better believe I will do everything in my power to make sure it fails. First I will protest peacefully, when I see the powers that be ignore me, then I will let bullets fly. I swear by that." I am sure when it comes to that in time it will be well after you and I and our great grandchildren are dead. But if it means anything this totally makes sense comming from you enbeezwax. I always knew you were a terrorist at heart. Hey! you said it!
