Ok so for the price of 300 houses, we get a house that that is on a piece of land the size of 15 houses and is well designed yada yada. In any case, what kind of moron does it take to buy a house the size of 15 houses for not double, not even triple but 20 times more $$$ than what it technically should be valued at. Even if I took into consideration all the features and said the house is somewhat worth 5 times as much as a normal house would be worth of the same size, thats still 4 times cheaper than what this house really costs.

Also if you had 300 houses and rented them out for $200 a week you would earn $240,000 a month or $3,000,000 a year. Lets subtract living expenses of $5,000 a month and say you bought a house every month for $235,000. You would be able to buy 120 more houses in 10 years raising your income to $336,000 a month and then in the next 20 years double your money. Or you could not buy any more houses and double your money in 25 years.

The point is kids, if you have this kind of money and you buy a ridiculously overpriced house, you are an utter moron.

Perhaps but you're also buying the location and all that land too. That must be worth something too (not necessarily 75mil).

That's not a house, it's a fucking mini-mall! Although parts of it look like a luxury hotel.

haha, I almost that the guy showing the tour for the house was Ben Affleck, it kinda looked like him at first...

COTB, the part you wrote in brackets was more important than the rest of your comment. Do you think the houses surrounding it are worth anywhere even remotely near the price of the house? Also the land is inclusive with most houses you buy and 20 houses including land (about $250,000) would cover the same land as this house.

Furthermore lets say each house around this one is worth $1,000,000, even though that is a ridiculous price that I've made up with a huge premium for living in this 'scared area'. Even so, 20 houses would be $20,000, only just over a 1/4 of the price of this house.

Let's hope the widows joints are seriously waterproof, because indeed, the ocean is way too close for comfort.
Feh! I suppose that anyone who can afford to treat himself with such an over priced mini hotel, can afford to have the whole ocean drained to the sun too.

Bahh that is going to be a nice diving spot in a few decades...the fish are going to love their artificial reef

22,000 square feet? $75 million? That's about $3000/SF.... which seems about 2 times too much for that house/location. Your average house and lot runs about $200 or so a SF. I guarantee THAT house cost about 7-10 times what a normal house would.

It's not that far-fetched. And there are people out there that pay that much for a painting.... they certainly wouldn't bat an eye at that price-tag.

About $3500/SF... sorry.

I would be surprised if this house actually sold for 75. Who ever has 75 mil to spend on a house is probably a smart businessman/investor who owned a company that did an IPO. I would think they would want to build their own custom house and then reinvest the leftover.

^ anyone who had that much money to put into a house would make their own exactly how they wanted it

FINALLY my corporate Amex can be put to good use!

if i was gonna spend 75,000 on a house then yes, i'd expect to be only a few yards away from my neighbours, but 75m? and still be within snooping distance of the fuckers? fuck that, i'd want my nearest neighbours to be a full fucking county away. And another thing, i'd turn that pretend 1950's mall bullshit into a brewery - far too much of that faux 1950's bollocks going on for my liking

salt water pool? no thanks.

Not to mention you'll need a few maids/butlers to manage most of the shit there so that it's ready and waiting for you to use in top condition (consider the water park for example). You have to be sure you're not too busy in your everyday life to enjoy all of those amenities or else you'd have to come up with a great way to make use of them -- parties and etc. But if you're that rich, just rent out a fucking theater, rent out a fucking this or that and you'd be good to go but this? Yikes.

Screw that... you can buy your own goddamn island for under a mil. and build a freakin mansion for another mil. on it with everything you could ever want.
