You don’t see the Coupe deVilles of that vintage much anymore.
What's the weird Caddy model that had the sloped back?
Uh, dunno. That’s too vague, cat.
The Eldorado maybe?
You slut!!!!!
Cadillac Catera?
fuck. I'll find it
Seville. 80s. My uncle had one I wanted so bad..
That Coupe de Ville is probably an ‘81 and has like 10,000 miles on it.
Seville is the answer
The Catera wasn’t sloped. Plus it was garbage.

That thing is ugly. That's why there are so few
10 months ago
Yeah, the Catera was basically a rebadged Opel Omega. My favorite was the Cadillac Alante https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Y53xewD_ru4

Ya, that was the problem with GM, all of the overlapping models

I got Olds. Saab??
Right before Saab folded, they were bought by GM.
i did not know that
that's still on seven
Saab was owned by GM for over 20 years.
I'm guessing the other two divs were shitty Jap add ons
10 months ago
Lol. Very good, cat. You get credit for “Geo” with that.
It doesn't look like a Buick
You’re missing one you’ll never get.
Chevy?
ah......Saturn?
There you go.
Then some Swedish electric car company bought Saab in like 2011 and they went bankrupt. They’re making an electric car based on the 9-3 that’s supposed to start selling next year I think.
I Win!!!!!!!!!!
However, shortly after I “joined”, they folded Geo into Chevy....so it really leaves one.
I worked at a Saturn dealer for a year. Worst dealership I ever worked for.
I'm more interested in hearing about when they fired you.
Are they around still?
* ClaudeBallz pretends he's having a conversation in the 90s before Lord Google *
10 months ago
No, the Saturns went into the GM parts bin.
ya, I dated a girl that had one. I remember they had plastic fenders.
you could push it in with your hand *ba-bwoop*
10 months ago
I quit Saturn and went to work for the International Detailing Association.
And those of you weenies that are thinking the missing one is Hummer, think again...

And no, I wasn’t fired from GM. I took a role at Sun Microsystems.

I saw an EV1 going over 100mph round the Milford pr0ving grounds before they released them. They were testing the regenerative brakes so they were essentially going around the track brake tourqing the thing. The track made it so they didn’t even steer them.

EV-1 was a threat to the oil industry. GM says they had a hard time finding parts for it.
They never intended to sell them actually. It was an experiment to see if they would work in real driving conditions. Remember, this was in 1995. Not such great software to manage the electrics. Shit burned up and they weren’t so efficient. I will say tho that there was some incredible mechanical engineering in them for their time.

Those Fucks!!!!!
The EV-1 was basically the right car at the wrong time, I think. You could only lease and not buy them, and when the leases were up, GM crushed the car. Francis Ford Coppola has one in his collection but Idk if it’s driveable.
Someone said to me once that there was enough petro-carbons in them to make them negatively impact oil consumption. Aka, use more oil to make them.
Battery recycling wasn’t what it is today, too.
When I finished EV1 I went over to work on what became OnStar.
The EV-1 had some creature comforts that are standard today...included a keyless entry and ignition system, a special one-way thermal glass for better heat rejection on sunny days, an automated tire pressure loss warning system, electric power steering, etc. And this was in the 90’s.

Well that explains it.
That was in 2005, dude. She got married later that year...which probably explains it.
Ya, well I met Alton Brown once and he got skinnier. Now who broke whose heart?
Plus she’s what, 48? Probably going through menopause.
i dunno, but she's probably 5'0, so.....
Yeah, that’s about right. And I just looked, she’s 49, so probably going through menopause and doesn’t give a shit anymore.

Good title for a book. I read something about her flipping out in her 20’s and she didn’t leave her house for a year or something. Probably agoraphobia.

By definition. Sow, Martha Stewart was quite fetching in her youth, I just discovered.

Martha got rich when she was young by modeling for Chanel. Odd fact: she babysat Yogi Berra’s and Mickey Mantle’s kids when she was a teen.

Something tells me she's a Good thing in the sack though....
Read her Twitter feed some time and you’ll see what I’m talking about. She says some pretty odd shit.

She claims to have been struck by lightning three times, so maybe that had an effect.

i have a buddy who worked at Ratheon which was acquired by hughes aircraft which in turn was acquired by GM..anyway,my buddy, not the savviest of automotive connoisseurs, went in the for "GM employee discount" and picked himself up a saturn..a fuckin green one..that thing was the biggest piece of shit besides maybe a yugo theres ever been.
GM is a rubbish brand and always has been..at least since the 70s.
I wouldn’t say that. They’ve made some great vehicles and some really shitty vehicles. I had a 99 Lumina in my fleet that went 636,000 miles before we scrapped it, as well a ‘04 Buick Park Ave that was fifty grand brand new that we constantly had trouble with. It’s just that you just get what you pay for when it comes to cars, in most cases.
actually I am going to be buying a new(ish) truck pretty soon here...I could spend 45k plus on an F150 or silverado or ram or I could save about 10k and buy a toyota tundra and get a better truck..at least in terms of reliability. So in that case..id be getting more for less..dont care that the proceeds go to those evil octopuss in the cunt japs either...they still place a higher priority of customer satisfaction.
*on
I had a Tundra as a plow truck. Things rarely broke on it, but when they did, parts were hard to come buy and outrageously expensive. On the other hand, I also had a Silverado. Not the most reliable truck, but parts were cheap and just about anybody could work on it, myself included. They both got shitty mileage and both had the same size engine. The Silverado was a beater but I got it cheap because it had a bad kickdown cable and bracket that I fixed with the help of a friend. My point is, it’s gonna cost you eventually no matter what it is.
I have an 01 tundra now..206k..interior has no holes or rips..most things are in working order minus the little bulbs i didnt bother changing out..the worst this i could say about my current truck is the clear coat wasnt for shit (14 years then fail..but i see it on a lot of sun drenched cars out here) and my mileage, based on my ledfootin ways, aint nothing to write home about.
And be careful with Toyota, because they nickel and dime your the dumbest options that are standard on a lot of other vehicles. Also, Toyota’s in my experience have a much higher purchase price than similarly equipped vehicles...that yes, are probably less reliable.
on a minimal traffic'd stretch of highway,I can get up to 19ish..around where i live,i dip down into the 10s

And all Toyota products do get great mileage. My RX 350 has 154,000 miles on it and still averages about 25 mpg. I bought my cars more out of necessity, though. When I need groceries and it snowed 12 inches the night before and is still snowing 3 inches an hour, or if my tenant calls because the hot water tank died, I need to get places. My Mercedes SLK wouldn’t be much help, and my Lincoln was terrible in the winter out here.
The Lexus does okay in that mess of snow, but the Grand Cherokee has been the best in the winter, even better than my plow trucks were.
jeeps are good for rugged terrain..so i assume theyd do good in snow..though im snowgnorant ..i havent even felt the snow in 40 years..filthy cold crap
10 months ago
And I’ve got Michelin all season tires on the Jeep, too. Ya know the thing about winters here is that we get the lake effect off of both lake erie and ontario sometimes. Back in Syracuse it came off of Ontario only, and usually stayed to the north. Out here it’s also very flat because this area is known as an escarpment, so it gets really windy and blows the snow all over the place. Having traction is one thing, but when you can only see 10 feet in front of you, that’s a whole nother ballgame.
