Falcon 9 Reusable Rocket

These heavy lift rockets are being developed (by hardcore nerds) to be reusable, meaning, of course, they land themselves instead of burning up in the atmosphere. It's pretty cool and interesting but if you remember that show Beyond 2000, mankind is really fuckin' far behind.

shouldn't this be a fail?

They should do it somewhere more stable, like a city park or mall.

I wouldn't consider this a fail, considering the rocket has to fire its engine a few times after reentering the atmosphere to stabilize and reorient itself, then balancing on its thrust in a controlled descent.

It's a bold new approach. I don't understand why they just don't deploy flotation devices...

Fuck that. They should be landing these practice rockets in Walmart parking lots and ghetto lands America throughout.

I don't get it either, but it's pretty cool. The boosters from the shuttle landed in the ocean and were reusable, so what the fuck this point's supposed to be, I don't know

That's what I mean. I think it's to reduce the turnaround time.

the rocket exploded over that ship. I don't think that intentional.

Oh, yeh. But I mean, how many rockets are they sending to space which creates the necessity for a quick turn around?

I know dick about this subject, by the way.

They're prepping for a Mars mission. They'll have to send a shit-ton of stuff to the ISS and they're even talking about staging on the Moon.

looks like there were two ships, it landed between them and blew up.

Why don't they just have a pilot fly or glide the thing back somehow?

Because that's not as cool as auto landing

I said impulse, you fucking idiot.

Picard could have made it work

Ahhhh hell... even that womanizer Riker could have directed the crew to make this landing.....

If a rocket blows up in the middle of the ocean does it make a sound?
No, just a splash because fish don't have any ears.

Doesn't look like that one is going to be reusable.
