Uh, isn't there a law about equal and opposite reactions that makes this impossible

mhm, and the first body exerted equal force on the second body--one just had way more mass and kinetic energy

I realize a train is much bigger... but if it's going 30 mph the bird shouldn't ricochet off at 90 mph

flubbird

The angle of deflection and speed of the train, is what caused the acceleration of the bird.

Bono are you actually retarded?

Or like ever watched a baseball game?

Yeah, but a ball and a bat are much closer in mass than a train and a bird, and they are both travelling much faster. It's so much easier to transfer energy.

Its about perspective, the bird isn't actually moving faster, hes flying away from the camera and it 'seems' like hes going slower than he actually is but when he hits the train his path is altered and he ends up deflecting off the train going up and to the right where he clears the field of vision in like a second.

If bonu was standing in the middle of the road (hint hint) and a car was accelerating towards him and bonu jumped at the last second and hit the windshield, wouldn't his trajectory be about the same?
trajectory maybe, but this debate is about velocity.

stop trying tooly... bed is that way.
