A guy in my area has converted a car so that it can run on a mixure of water and gasoline.

If it was truly worthwhile it'd run on water only.

you need to have a way to make the electricity to split the hydrogen and oxygen.

I think someone needs to retake Thermodynamics

I wonder if it cuts cleaner than a plasma or a laser cutter.

HEY!!!!Thats my area.....we probably yell at eachother in traffic on 19

yeah, I like the lady's comment about water prices spiking because of this, hell, you can get water from anywhere.... if it's filtered enough, take a wizz in your tank!

Actually, we already have bio-fuel, but unfornately, just for diesel engine... arg!!!

If this was real we'd be hearing more about it.

^^^ Yah, God knows they told you about the Stealth aircrafts back when they were still experimental too. You don't have to believe this is real- remember - according to some, you live on a flat planet.

I know this is real and I'll tell you how. The scene where the hood is popped and he's pointing to the engine... that building in the background was my rehearsal hall from 1990 until 2000. I still go and hang around there and bullshit with the owners of the shops around it.

As for it not being truly worthwile unless it runs on water only - either that is said in jest or it's short sighted. You have to start somewhere. Odds are there were people who said the 'horseless carrige' was would only truly be worthwile if it had a horse pulling it and a goat pushing it.

Like it or not - part of the world is going to be moving away from fossile fules.
It's not that far away and once the spice is useless, nobody will care about Arrakis.

xXjasinXx -- LOL at the U.S-19 remark. You know how I can tell I'm back in Pinellas county? Becuase since 1972 they've never stopped working on it! - They start at the Skyway and rebuild it until they reach Pasco. Once they get there, they go back to the Skyway and start over. They've been doing that as long as I've lived here.

Hmmm. Since the car companies are largely in bed with the oil companies I'd say this is all we'll ever hear about this.
So you can put your hand in the flame and not get burned?
no fuckpipe, only i can do that with my asbestos skin
11 years ago
We're always going to need oil, since petro-chemicals are pretty cool. It might just be prudent if we stopped burning it all up to fuel our reckless drive to extinction.

Mankind existed before it discovered oil.
I know it’s hard to believe (we also existed before cell phones and cable tv!)

People once said we’d never get be able to exist without horses too.
Tell me how many horses you see heading down the freeway.

I like when people say the car companies are in bed with the oil companies.
Propaganda is a splendid thing!

Think about this - Do you think that if a car company came out and said 'Hey, we have a car that does not use gasoline!' ---

Do you think people would:
A) Buy them
B) Not buy them

Are the automakers in business to make money?
A) Yes
B) No

Now - Do you think that if the automakers were able to make a car than ran on something other than gasoline and people would buy a shitload of them allowing the automaker to make a ton of money that they would say 'Nah, lets pass'?

Consider this - the American auto makers are hurting for money at the moment and if they came out with car that ran on a fuel such as this, the American people would stand in line to get one, thus making a ton of money for the U.S auto industry.
If you're silly enough to believe that they'd pass on that, then you need to sign up for Business 101.

That man, will be. Filthy Fucking Rich.

Oh and the flame thing was pretty fucking cool I think.
I'd buy one.

I wonder what kind of efficiency and horse power you get from it?
I'll give it 4 years for them to come out with an efficient and powerful engine.

Ok...

1. The oil industry is:
A) Insignificant when compared to the automobile industry
B) The biggest fucking industry on this planet

2. Water completely replacing fossil fuels would:
A) Make Exxon-Mobil happy because the world is saving money
B) Piss off the entire oil industry as well as have a, iraqi price-tag on the head of the man spearheading the progress

Buisness 101 has nothing to do with the choices made on this topic. BTW, this isn't the first time this has come up, there was a car that did run on ONLY water. Wonder what happened....

Stan Meyer was the true genious, back in 1998. Some may remember this, but it must be said. PLEASE visit this link:

InfamousTizzle - "If man were meant to fly he'd have wings."

There has been no shortage of people like you though out history. (see my comment regarding the horse-less carriage)

Sit back, relax and wait.
You'll see that this is real.
Odds are you won't believe it because you have made the choice not to.

I've seen it in person.
I know what it is.
I know it works.
I know people around you will be hearing about it too.

My business 101 comment is valid regardless of how much you don’t like it.

Oh and Infamous Tizzle, I invite you to contact the creator of the car and tell him he's wasting his time.
Please, by all means go for it.
I'm sure he'll enjoy hearing from you.

Clearwater inventor Denny Klein has patented an electrolysis process that converts water to HHO gas.

The gas combines the atomic power of hydrogen with the chemical stability of water. His company Hydrogen Technologies originally patented and developed the technology to produce welding machines that run off from water. Then the company adapted their water-powered engines to the automotive sector. They have created a prototype car that can run exclusively off of water, although they currently have it configured to run as a water-gasoline hybrid.

hmmmmm...i hope those torches become standard at wleding jobs. im training right now to become and under water welder....i wonder if they work under water like regular torches. lol mabey under water they are self fueling. although im guessing the water needs to be filtered to fuel right?
HIB - That's a good question regarding the water being filtered. They haven't said and I didn't think to ask that. It's pretty amazing how the shit works though. Ironicly they're showing this again on one of my local news stations as i'm typing this.

Heh. Now the government will have to kill Stan Meyer...

Isn't it funny when you see the commercials from Oil companies saying how they're working hard to find alternate energy resources... it's such a joke. Almost as hilarious as that old "Saudi Arabia isn't bad even though we're secretly funding terrorists" commercial from 2002.

hahahha... he changes H2O to HHO! LOL!

The H2O 2000!! Be the first on your block to own this revolutionary piece of machinary..haha but seriously..damn...that's genius

Its creepy knowing of people who live near clearwater online. I used to live in Holiday, and harass the scientologists whenever I went into clearwater, haha.
God dam you ppl are idiots.

Electrolysis has been around FOREVER.

It will NEVER be efficent.

Efficency = money

No efficency, no money.

Power/energy IN is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY MORE than energy OUT using electrolysis.

Whoopdie fucking do, another hydrogen powered car, so what. They're getting the hydrogen from a VERY innefficent procedure, electrolysis.

Once we magically find a way to magically make energy from something cheap, abundant, harmless, and COST EFFECTIVE, life will be good.

Since life sux and always will suck, it'll never happen.

Good day.
But it's only from water Nowhere! I heard something about electricity too but, *surely* it couldn't cost *that* much to break up H2O!

I bet a hampster-wheel generator would do fine. A few cedar chips and nuts a day....
Possibly an improvement but does it not still require energy from another source to operate such as an electrical outlet or conventional combustion engine?

I think the sensible approach to a technology like this is to consider it as a complement rather than a substitute to existing technology. That said I'm very impressed by how well the welder/cutter appears to work.
