Either rebuilt or built his engine, nice work.

Uhmm, congratulations? The guy knows how to build an engine. Too bad it's still a 4banger that could atmost push out 260bhp.

that's cool... reminded me of the boring days watching my friend assimilating an R33 engine into his 240sx. He poured waaaaay too much money into that car.

<--- admitted dunce.

So, what was he doing with the piston rings before seating the pistons?

i want to see finished work.....it doesnt mean shit to watch him build it if it cant run.

Definitely interesting to watch. Was there anymore to this?

Ummm, in case you didnt realize that it was an eagle talon TSI. The turbo edition. If you have the right turbo setup, your STREET LEGAL car can push up past 300-500 horses if you drop some cash.

i dont know shit about engines but that was cool to watch, im surprised i watched the whole thing, it was a pretty long video :D

I saw this when the kid posted it on his forum, the motor seized or something along those lines after a matter of 2 days. He forgot 1 thing and used his fingers to apply the grease to the bearing which is a no no.

I doubt he got the right torque since the engine support was rolling all over the place when he torque down those nuts.

Oh I had to comment about the lovely part where his friends are rubbing their cocks all over the place. That MADE the movie. And what kind of crazy looking intake manifold is that? All sideways and shit!

nope thats all they had.

@frankenpengie He was checking the ring gap.
When he set the crank, he didn't appear to have tourqed the caps in increments so he could have messed up the caps, bearings or block (aluminum).

you'd think with all the money you get from your bajillion ads you could get this site running a little faster.

iloseat you are one bitter person. Complains everything.

FAKE!

He took an engin apart, taped it, and played the tape backwards. Wanna bet?

Agree with the ring gapping,Disagree with the twisted intake manifold, wich is actually the exhaust manifold. And i personnaly dont think applying the crank grease with your fingers can get your engine to seize, because that grease is for the first minute or two, after this delay the oil pressure is high enough to assure a good lubrication of those bearings.Maybe he mounted the coolant fluid thermostat the wrong way, preventing the engine to be properly cooled,or maybe lots of other things ....But anyway, seeing new parts getting assembled is always a good thing to watch.

Seeing this, i regret not having taped when i rebuilt the motor on my car with my uncle. in any case its nothing all that special, just that feeling you get after. we did it back around november (its a 95 trans am 350 lt1) his motor was about half the size of mine, and while i dont much care for those 4 cylinders the thought of that little bastard being turbo as halfhearted claims makes me wanna race it.

soul-teaser-- you ARE joking, correct? Because I might have missed your sarcasm...

if i had to guess why the engine seized and i am in collage for high performance automotive, he did not check the oil clearance of the crank and the mains this can destroy the crank and bearings. Oh and really is right about bearings unless there is alot of dirt on your hands.
And your right about crank and mains clearance, sometimes too tight is bad.....only sometimes...lol
