For those who haven't seen it. It speaks for itself.

Wow. that was the wrong croud. I watch his show all the time and most of those jokes he had made before but no one was laughing. actually some were but man did he bomb... Lighten up people. it's parody. I can't believe they (pres. and press corp) were that touchy. he did deliver the jokes poorly but that was mostly because he could sense the ackwardness of the croud... maybe they should have a three drink minium at these events. the news reports made sound like he bombed even worse. but it looked like he was hitting sensitive points with everybody but Scalia.

its "crowd", and yes the man has got some huge balls to stand up there and deliever these jokes with the president a few feet away...with his hand on the button...

He has learned well from Jon Stweart and taken it to the next level.

I think he really stuck it too them as hard as any comedian can. Bravo.
How does he even walk with nuts that huge. He's like a living version of the ten pound ball joke.

I personally think he argued the wrong points. I don't think he would've truely backed up Bush like he did. But he had no choice really. I felt unconfortable myself just watching the silence in the room compared to his usual audience. Poor Colbert.

not with my hand on the button....

Hey I take offense eto that deadulas. I'm a twenty year old who at least 1/4 knows what I'm talking about.

But thats beside the point. I'm just saying that anybody who can stand in front of the president of the U.S. and a pretty good handful of the rest of the administration and voice views that strongly oppose the current policy is rather brave.

The real crowd he was playing to was not in the room. The man is smart enough to know that this video would hit the internet and spread faster than a puddle of Asian shit. I thought he did a damn fine job poking fun at the whole thing. The press think they're 'super important' when in reality, they're pretty useless.

"He has learned well from Jon Stweart and taken it to the next level." <<-- So did Lenny Bruce.

i agree with you 100% tron87, its funny, but this is the place where people think their voice will be heard so they try to look smart by posting a book about how they feel and what they think is the truth

It was incredibly funny but I couldn't laugh because I was in disbelief as he cut right through them right there in the same room.

What I keep wondering is since in America almost every contingency is made in general and when it comes to politics every contingency is made, how did he pull it off unless someone else gave him the ok?

They were all too stunned to do anything.
That or the acid was starting to kick in.

that was so awesome, It never gets old. I got to go to a taping of the daily show on my birthday last week, I love both of them.

THEY knew what they were in for when they invited him, I'm sure. But at a certain point, not inviting a guy like that is going to cause more political trouble than just inviting him and sitting through a roast. I'm sure Bush was told that this would play well for him. Colbert isn't going to convince anyone (left) in Bush's camp of jack or shit, and it's not like he was saying anything new against him. Man but the way he said it... Beautiful peice of work.

He did this for his fans, he knows we're the ones who enjoy this stuff. He's ALMOST as cool as John Stewart.

Just wondering but would he not have to have the things he said ok'd long before he stood up said them ?

i was wondering how long it would be before tgi-friday had this up.

Good going!

I actually laughed out loud at most of his stuff. But yet it stopped being funny half way. Colbert was not really that funny after all.
