This game was a pain in the ass.

i bet it made arcades a fortune
especially cuz most of the arcades had broken controllers because people would get so pissed off at getting like 5 minutes in and then dying for some cheap reason and smash the joystick

I reconize him from some Disney movie.

That's because Don Bluth designed the game.

dragon's lair was pretty easy compared to the sequel and space ace

Space Ace fro the SNES was the best.

I watched this very video recently. Gives me a massive geek-on. I wondered how much was rotoscoped but I don't know what's worse, finding out a lot of it was rotoscoped or very little and I will just never be that good.

I hated this fucking game. It was stupid, easy, and always fucked up a move a few minutes in, even if you did the correct action. Made a fortune off of me in quarters and tokens. Plus, wasn't this one of the first games that required more than one quarter to play?
yup here it was like a buck to play

if it was easy, how did you spend a fortune on it even if it did fuck up?
Also, how did you choose the actions of dirk? Looks touchscreeny but I know that it wasnt developed at that time.

basically the direction or hint at what you were supposed to do at the time would kind of flash a bit on some of it... pretty much it was trial and error

so just a joystick and button?
yup just a joystick and button
it was basically an electronic money stealer

looks like one of those games that you watch other people play to know what to do and take turns. Not that I would have had the sense to do that as a kid. Beautiful looking coin thief though.

The only game I wasted millions of coins on was Marvel versus Capcom 2
5 years ago
It was pretty much rote memorization, onscreen hints, and timing. But sometimes the game would fuck you even if you got the direction and timing right.

The NES version was better. hehe
