I read what you wrote, I just dont understand how you would be willing to give such invasive power to the government, look at it this way.. if you give them an inch we all know they will take a mile so how could you think that your basic small freedoms wont be infringed apon if you were to allow them to micromanage everything else? Those taxes are suppose to be appropriated back to the citizens in the form of public works, benefits, safety, etc. The government should not interfere in Joe Public's life, so if Joe wants to smoke weed, own a couple of weapons, be a drunk douchebag or hire a hooker he should be well and free to do so.
Oh the other hand, when business is left to do whatever they want, they take the economy and fucking plant an IED on it and leave it to explode. You see, every single scare/depression/recession has been the cause of big business being deregulated. (look at the roaring 20's, the house bubble, the deregulation of derivatives market, etc and you see the same cycle). A bunch of rich thugs, throw their money in the pockets of the politicians and then rob the poor to make more money and then leave us in shambles.
Worker owned would get rid of greedy share holders and allow a company to do what's in the best interest of the people who actually work for and are the means of production. The government is meant to protect the people not rape and pillage
